Haha! cheers bud, If I didn't do it it would be more time and money spent on a machine that no garage likes to work on, daft thing is if you took the bike in they'de do it and if you took the car part in the same but put em both together and alot less folk want to work on her, no idea why as it's such an easy trike to work on, RSM8.

Hi mate fellow veteran here. Just bought my 1st trike. Yep you guessed it’s a 1989 virago 535 otherwise why would i be watching you. Can i ask where you got the service kit from please. And does your/dads trike have the electric switch for the reserve fuel?

Hi buddy, sorry for the late reply, nice one for the trike build, I got the service kit from ebay plenty to chose from, and no there is no switch for the reserve, bit awkward honestly so dad just sets his milometer when he refuels and tops up around every 100 miles, wishing you luck with the build bro, off into hospital on Thursday to have a brain tumor operated on so wont be on social media for a while, RSM8.

@ best of luck, I have an appointment next week to test for bowel cancer. Not sure how I feel about that. My trike did have an electric fuel reserve but some idiot cut it out. Haha.

Cheers buddy, I must admit I never noticed, I assumed wrongly of cause that the new one had seals fitted, but thanks to your comment it's now been done, Fresh service but not filmed as I did it a couple of weeks before your comment, I've just checked and thankfully now put them in, once again an eagle eyed viewer saves the day, RSM8.

@LAUST Probably, if you can't see one in there. It doesn't come with the air cleaner and has to be purchased separately :) You will actually need two seals, not just one - one comes between the air cleaner and the tank, and the other comes between the air cleaner and the air cleaner case cap. Check out the original schemes in the manual. You can also google the schemes if you don't have a manual)

@LAUST if there's an air leak, it could affect the performance. The leak would affect the air-fuel mixture ratio. If you had a hole in an intake boot, you would probably fix it, right? This is basically the same. It is one of those "invisible" things that could cause you a headache down the road, with every other turn of the throttle. It is recommended to always replace the seals when you install a new air filter (the seals are squeezed and flattened under pressure so fresh ones are a good investment, plus they only cost about 2euros. Another great investment is the manual. ...Man, you wouldn't believe how many things I found my motorcycle was missing. One small part here, another small part there... The previous owner was not very good at keeping things together I guess. LOL

I've got a 535cc virago Yamaha trike, 🤗🇬🇧, we're is the petrol reserve ⛽🙄, as there's no tap on the tank 😳?, wierd!

Sorry for not replying before now bud, there is no reserve or pet cock, as its a two part tank, main tank is low down behind to rear mudguard cover and then the rest is the actual tank, dad just filled up every 100 miles to be safe, RSM8
