How's the clarity on the water? I did something similar, and I find the wind distorts the sound.

Do you get any interference noise from this setup?
@rockvillesam3772 Жыл бұрын
Its a nice install but more than 75% of the output will be lost on the water as the speakers are facing completely away from the driver of the ski. You will hear the low frequency OK but the high notes will be invisible to the driver and will sound great to the boat next to you where the speaker is facing and firing the audio output at.

Looks great My Wave Runner is old and I’m still not brave enough to go cutting speaker holes Lol I’m hesitant to drill for the wire to go to my speakers Lol

What this setup cost u if u don’t mind me asking 🤔 trying to pull the trigger on a set of speakers asap
@Grimreaper420ful6 жыл бұрын
I’ve seen many people cut holes and mount the speakers, how does water not get into the inside, what if u tip? Won’t it take on water and sink? I’m honestly just asking I’m curious
@BUGGEE05 жыл бұрын
Not sure but maybe they can use some kind of silicone when mounting the speakers.nothing too permanent like 5200 but something light just to keep water out.just incase speakers has to be removed later,you wont rip the paint off with that 5200 stuff.

Nice job Sam. I'm having difficulty with my set up, maybe you can through me some advice. I have my iphone hooked up to the rca cables from the amp using the RCA to headphone jack wire provided in the wire harness for the amp. I have the amp hooked directly to the battery (ground and hot). My amp is not turning on (no illumination or music playing through speakers). I have one wire not hooked up, the remote wire. I am told that the amp may not turn on in this configuration because the iphone doesn't provide enough power, but its hooked up to the battery on the jet ski! WTF lol! I don't want to buy and install a remote. I don't see the benefit in a remote and a bluetooth model is even more of a waste because who can use their phone while jet skiing? Might as well just plug it in right? Can I just use a toggle switch as opposed to a remote (or a head unit)? My big problem is that there is only one wire (blue wire - remote wire) not in use; so how do I get that hooked up to a toggle switch? or a remote if I go that route? Do I have to run more power to the toggle or remote? and attach the blue remote wire to the hot side of the toggle or remote? Thanks in advance, Jake

All I want to know is are the speakers marine?

Hey amazing set up. can you post a link of what exactly you used to cut the holes im having trouble finding a hole bit for the awkward size kicker requires.
@samuelking95033 жыл бұрын
What I used was a dremel bit made of tungsten carbide. It cuts fiberglass.

Hey Samuel, nice install man. Have you been out on the water with it? How are the speakers holding up? Just bought a VX Cruiser HO this weekend and planning on adding a sound system to it, and your set up seems perfect. Let me know how its holding up.
@samuelking95036 жыл бұрын
Speakers are holding up great.

People on here concerned about the hole's from the speaker/screws(which I'm sure are sealed) and thinking it'll sink when it flips. I think it would sink a lot fast from the massive access hole from under the seat.(and no it doesn't) LOL

Hey hows it going im installing a JL audio system on my waverunner in a few days. Just wondering are you able to hear it while your going full speed?
@samuelking95037 жыл бұрын
My Kenwood is a 400 watt amp. With 200 watt speakers. it's pretty loud. I don't turn it all the way up cause speakers won't be able to handle the 400 watts. In hind sight I should have matched speakers to amp. With that being said, I can hear it quite well at full speed.
@samuelking95036 жыл бұрын
Yes. Placement and wattage of speakers are cruial.
@skysetunfold5 жыл бұрын
@@samuelking9503 I just picked up the same set up can't wait to install it on my brand new ski. The amp is 400 watt Max. If wired in stereo it's 45 watts per channel. If wired in bridge mode it's 90 watts per channel. The speakers are 195 watt Max but 60 continuous watts. That means if you have it wired in stereo you shouldn't have a problem turning the volume up. Love your set up! Hopefully mine comes out just as good.

What did you use to seal the speakers to the hull of the jet ski?

WHAT ABOUT THE HEAT FROM ENGINE OVER THE AMPLIFIER ??
@samuelking95034 жыл бұрын
No issues with heat. The compartment has good clearance for the Amp and it's not mounted near the engine.

Hey man , question, did you add a extra battery??
@samuelking95035 жыл бұрын
No I didn't. Used the existing battery.
@on_geepee3 жыл бұрын
How did you wire the ignition wires to amplifier?
@samuelking95033 жыл бұрын
I didn't. I wired power thru a rocker switch. I turn it off and on independently.
@on_geepee3 жыл бұрын
Thank you
@on_geepee3 жыл бұрын
And what were the 2 or 3 wires you wired to the switch...i just bought the switch today, but im not sure what wires to wire to the switch?
@samuelking95033 жыл бұрын
@@on_geepee The switch only has 2 wires. It is just an off/on switch. One wire coming from the + battery terminal to one side of the switch, and the other wire going from the other side of the switch to the power wire (+) of the controller.
@on_geepee3 жыл бұрын
Thank you again. I just got done with my install...after watching a few videos and a few questions , it was a success...thanks again

Great information. Thanks for the video. How have things been since you've had time to spend with it over the past year?? I really want to do something like this on my VXR. Have you had any sort of battery issues?? Running down the battery, etc?
@samuelking95036 жыл бұрын
No issues. It Definitely makes time spent on the water more enjoyable. As far as the battery is concerned, as long as your waverunner is running, there will be no battery issues.
@michaelrodriguez82994 жыл бұрын
So you hooked up power straight to existing battery? Do you think wiring to a separate battery would be better? Main battery would not drain as fast?
@cesardelatorre72133 жыл бұрын
I would rather get two m6 jl audio speakers on a 500watt marine amp! That’ll blow that system away
@wassemdarwiche69283 жыл бұрын
you know it! Jl audio is a bit more pricey but worth every penny. The quality is so crispy I love them

not to be a dick...but holy shit..holes like that in the ski.not smart...how is it doing now or is it at the bottom of the lake?
@dashsmackdowndash66046 жыл бұрын
If you flip your ski water will come in through the speaker holes your drilled...it will sink.
@samuelking95036 жыл бұрын
Actually no it won't. They are marine speakers and the holes are sealed. Flipped already and still floating. But thanks for your observation
