How much ground clearance with no springs on it?
@UTVonDemand4 жыл бұрын
@@danlux4954 LOL We can't take the springs off to find out. What are you trying to figure out, if you can run smaller tires?

@UTVonDemand4 жыл бұрын
@@danlux4954 in our test video you can see a side shot of the machine bottoming out on a G out. It doesn't give a measurement obviously but at least it shows you how much clearance is left when the suspension is fully compressed.

I have had a 2021 RMAX 1000/2 for over a year now and I love it. We live in Texas and have taken it all over Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas on a regular basis. We have even taken it to Red River, NM and Silverton, CO. It handles every sort of terrain from rocks and hills to flat dirt roads like a champ. It does things I would have never thought it could. It is a BEAST! I look for any reason to take it out, even in my neighborhood which is in a big city. If you don't have one, get one, you won't be sorry. Outstanding job Yamaha!

We have not seen the LE in person. It certainly looks sharp on film.

All I know is, the Yamaha team did one hell of a good job on the chassis and suspension. The RMAX is very predictable and can hold high speed lines really well. I have found that when doing high speed runs, I'll keep my fronts on #3 setting and #2 out back, I feel like it helps when braking hard. No one has really talked about the brakes a lot... And I honestly like the feel and that you have to "get on them" to stop hard. This is such a great machine and more people are going to get on board. Yamaha has a winner on their hands for sure. Thanks for the video gents!
@UTVonDemand4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your input and setup on your RMAX. Do you run #3 up front to prevent front-end dive, roll, or both? We covered the brakes pretty well in our review of the RMAX in case you may have missed it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIKZY5x7iq2HaJI
@BarnStangz4 жыл бұрын
@@UTVonDemand I'll have to watch your review again, I sort of remember you guys not liking the brakes since you have to REALLY crank on them to get the machine to stop. I dunno, I guess I like that, I like that they are progressive, but need a good mash job. And to answer your question, I feel like #3 up front prevents the dive and roll. When I was doing some slower trails on Friday I went back to #2 front and back. I don't think I've even used the softest setting, I'll have to experiment.

We're from Ohio so we won't argue with that. When you hear Powersports people talking East Coast West Coast you're mainly talking about people discussing riding on wooded Trails versus wide open desert. Congratulations on the new purchase hopefully you'll stop back and tell us how you like it.

That would be correct. If you want any even pleasure ride you might want to go to a more round profile tire that will flex more.

Day 1: Have the dealer swap the 30" for 32" Carnivores before you leave the showroom. It boosts ground clearance to 15" and makes the ride even better.

@@StarDustMoonRocket How do the taller tires affect cornering and acceleration?
@StarDustMoonRocket6 ай бұрын
@UTVonDemand Mathmatically, acceleration would be 7% less. Top speed 7% higher. And assuming a center of gravity at 36 inches off grade, cornering stability would be degraded about 5%. Long story short, with 30s or 32s, it remains a very capable recreational UTV that will smoke the utility machines, and not compete with the sport machines. If you want more clearance and mud hole capability, go to 32s.

Not sure. Right now we are waiting on a Can-Am Commander for a little comparison. It wouldn't be until after that's complete so it would be a bit. I think DirtTrax has one.
