Yamaha XSR 700 - Test drive (buying new motorcycle pt. I)

As touring on my 125 scooter with small wheels gives me a pain! time has came to do something about it. Will buy a motorcycle cause I got hooked big time on cruising around. I plan to test drive few motorcycles that I find interesting. Yamaha XSR 700 is the first one I tested. Will keep the scooter, it is perfect for the city!

Can confirm, the bike is amazing. But a few things to be kept in mind: 1. Highway speed over 120 is not comfy due to cheap fork (fixable w/ spring kit) and no wind protection. Bike can be in ECO mode up to 130. 2. Stock exhaust is too silent, you will need to spare save some cash for it to do engine justice. 3. Jerky throttle from the start, but still beginner friendly. 4. Suspension as a whole will not satisfy those who race or those over 100kg, but I find it very comfy for city riding. 5. Fuel tank is rather small at 14L, but 4.5 average consumption sort of compensated for it. 700 tracer with same engine has a bigger tank.

good choice for beginners bike. i got mine three months ago. its my third real bike. I tested the duc scrambler (funny, but not that comfy although great looks) and had a short sit on suzuki sv 650 (great Motor, but just too normal looking). this was just spot on when I first took a seat. try others, but believe me, you will come back for this. The power delivery band and easy handling is just best in this class

+indiemoto it is garage metallic. looks epic in person. like brushed aluminium, timeless style. although the black yellow 60th annyersary version is hot, too. just a little bit too aggressive for my personal taste. went on an alpine trip with duc hypermotard, Kawasaki z1000, benelli tornado and Honda cbr 650 last weekend. could easily keep up with all of them in the twisties. and had by far the best gas millage :-D

+TheMikinger considering how sporty it felt, I am not surprised that xsr can be in line with any motorcycles on twisty roads. it is more question of the rider than the bike ;) right?

This is a beauty, but I'll get the 900 as I've already owned a 600cc before and 700 isn't enough of an upgrade.
