Love this Bike got one too! They are also used for moto safaris in africa. Most have over 130k kilometers on them and still run fine. Unbreakable :)

Yea mate , they are good mail , just keep those oil changes regular and they will last forever, especially with the roller-rockers in the top end while other big singles destroy the hard chroming on rockers & cams at anything over 50k , these keep chugging along.

Looks weird without that 21” front wheel , wonder if the steering head is at a steeper angle than the XT660R ,

Hey mate, not sure if you're still replying, just sold my Suzuki sfv650 at 6'4 i was quite cramped. I was determined to get a DRZ400E but I'm kind of considering one of these now even as an SM if you have any experience with DRZ's which would you suggest? I understand the DR650 would be the direct comparison but curious on your opinion
@Tempcitz22 күн бұрын
@@carskangaroos9340 hey mate! I'm not 100% sure if the DR650 is the same frame size as the DRZ400, but I'm pretty sure it's similar. I'm 6'7 and the XT is honestly the best fitting tall bike I've ever had, now that I own this one! What state are you in?

@Tempcitz yeah I've been to every dealer trying to find a 400 to sit on but no luck haha, I'm in western Sydney, what about yourself?

I ride an xt and have sat on a drz400 and rode it for like 2 minutes to try it out. The drz is a slightly smaller bike mainly just slimmer but both have very similar seat heights. (Mind you the drz was on dirt tires and my xt is on supermoto wheels) Look you’ll fit on both, my legs get cramped on my xt on long rides but they probably would on most bikes. The drz isn’t really much different seating position wise, feels basically the same. The bike obviously just feels smaller but yeah, your legs and arms are basically in the exact same spot on both bikes so I can’t imagine either one being better or worse in terms of comfort, they’ll both just be “ok” The xt is only really good for street use and maybe the occasional gravel road, they’re not really easy to wheelie because they’re heavy for the power they make (they’re still more powerful than the drz) it’s just that they’re not really good for wheelies or heavier off-roading. I will say though some of the older xt’s have a bunch of annoying fueling issues so just go for a newer one (the newer ones have better looking headlights anyway) Look I’d say overall the drz is a better bike if you don’t care so much about crazy power and don’t do a whole lot of freeway riding. I don’t know much about dr650’s but they’ll probably be your best bet (assuming they’re better on freeways and have a bit more power) that way you kinda have the best of both worlds.

@@mikeadz1 Hey mate, thank you for your thorough reply! DRZ prices in Sydney are pretty terrible for what they are so I'm still thinking of one of these. When you say the older ones with fuelling issues which are they? And what's the newer better year model without the fuelling issues? I'm keen on it if there's no problems I think. I would love to go off-road but I doubt I would be doing it often especially anything crazy so really a Supermoto is appealing for the height and bigger rider sizing.

Not a naked bike bud 😂 it is a supermoto. Not sure what makes u say that… If it’s the weight then that has never been an issue, u buy these bikes as a reliable daily that u can have heaps of fun on, but also have the option to strap bags onto them and take them across the country and off-road. They’re a reliable supermoto that can be used for adv riding. Just like the drz400 or the dr650 🤷♂️
