Your videos are very well done and the information you provide is great! I just bought a 2003 V star 1100 so I'll be here often thank you, and I for one, appreciate your knowledge.

Yes sir....you answered your own question. You have to replace the o rings. This is very common reason for fluding. Even if the float needles are new the fuel is coming in around the outside of the float needle seat. It will be coming out of the tube between the carbs and also filling up the airbox and sometimes filling up the engine...easy fix...new o rings and needles...done! GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR WATCHING !!!

Thank you for these videos! I left my 01 VStar 1100 sit for too long and the e85 clogged the carbs. I am pretty sure the float needle is stuck up because it just keeps dumping gas in while trying to start it. I hope to get the carbs off soon to clean my stupid mistake!

Thank you so much for helping me learn more! What jets would you recommend for open pipes?

I love all your videos on Yamahas! one question on this video at the 12:03 mark, you state that the rear cylinder gets the bigger main jet. Are you sure, because on partzilla carb break down they have the front cylinder with the 115 main jet, and the rear cylinder with the 112.5 main jet. So who is right? or did I misunderstand something........ Thank you in Advance...

How come you did not separate the carbs and clean out the air tube that runs through the carb bracket ?

“So important to keep parts organized”. The NEXT clip is him grabbing them and putting them in cleaner. I’d be done then. (I just don’t know what I’m looking at).

Hello, I just noticed your carburetor is a little bit different than the one on my 05 Vstar 1100 Custom. Mine has a fuel cut-off solenoid valve on each end, I got my bike running after cleaning the carbs but the check engine light is on now. After further research, the bike is giving me codes 57 and 58 which, according to the owner's manual, are indicators of malfunction with the carb solenoids. There should supposedly be a wire/harness connected to each solenoid, but in my case, none of the solenoids have anything connected. Apparently, each solenoid costs about $200, so it won't be a cheap fix. 😞

Three months later... Anybody whom cares, look up "XVS1100 remove fuel cut-off solenoid". I doubt they're actually needed on the later bikes that have them. You can cut down into the rubber top, drop a wire and hot solder onto the conductor end, and seal it with rubber cement or jb weld, etc...

I thought rear jet main is 112.5 and front main jet is 115 according to my service repair manual and the Small choke jets 45.5 Thanks
@tubeonline6294 жыл бұрын
Good video, but the smaller sized main jet is for the rear cylinder.
@JoeSmoe10014 жыл бұрын
It's an air cooled bike. The smaller jet goes to the front jug that gets lots of air as you're riding. The larger one goes to the back to make it run a little cooler. Even on my water cooled Honda the rear jet is larger.

I would like to talk to you about an issue on my 2002 v star 1100 carb it has gas coming out of the little tube between the carbs and out of the air intake. I am assuming the floats are stuck open?
@DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs6 жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct ...the best thing to do is take the carburetors out and go through them just like you saw in the video...replace the float needles and the float seats... also check for debris you might have some rust or otger stuff in the gas tank. it would be beneficial to replace the inline fuel filter
@GenXDad19656 жыл бұрын
I am running into dripping out of the tube on the carbs as well. The jets have been cleaned and the floats are definitely not stuck, but I am noticing that the float seat o-rings looks really worn. When I pulled them out to inspect them there was no resistance when they were pulled. Would that cause the fuel dripping out of the vent hose on the carb?
@rickwhite37005 жыл бұрын
Had the same issue and both of my float needle seats? The part with the screen, both o rings were bad. Just did the rebuild yesterday and so far no leak

I charge $100 labor and the parts are about $50 ...however most shops are probably double. Thanks for watching my video and please subscribe to help me out...
