Yamaha may be erm, emulating Nord, but while Nord persevere with their sub-standard keybeds, I consider them fair game. This thing is overly-pricey but it sounds fantastic! Great demonstration, as always. Edit: the more I hear this, the more I regret my comment about the price!

Does anyone know if the organ's drawbars can remain in Manual Mode (live mode) all the time? Also, Is it possible for each of the three tone sections to receive on its own MIDI Channel? Also, is it possible to to be able to map any of the synth parameters (such as, say Portamento, Filter cutoff, etc....) to any of the sliders/knobs on the front panel?

Can you send MIDI out of the YC into another board? I'd like to have a weighted 88 keyboard underneath and just send a piano sound from the YC to the 88 key board. Possible?
@Roboprogs3 жыл бұрын
Yes, but I think you have “in” and “out” terms reversed. Connect the MIDI out from your 88 key to the MIDI in on this board, then the audio will come out of this board to the PA/speakers while you play the 88.

Can you layer up to 4 patches on this board?
@sweetwater2 жыл бұрын
Hi Deja Gruv Band. You can layer Organ with two other sounds. Since the Organ can be Split into Upper and Lower, you could have four sounds at once, but it would still be three Layers. (The left-hand Organ sound layered with A+B parts, and then the right-hand Organ sound also layered with those A+B parts.) -_Daniel_

How do the pianos compare to the CP88 or CP73? Is the keybed fast and light?
@sweetwater4 жыл бұрын
Great question! The keybed on the YC61 is similar to a traditional organ keyboard and is definitely a lighter action than the CP88 and 73. If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch. Hi xp50player. There's actually a full 8-Operator FM synth in there. You don't have full FM programmability, like on a DX7, but you can modify the FM sound's Tone, Filter, a chosen aspect of its ADSR, as well as its effects. -_Daniel_

This is an awesome keyboard. Fortunately for my bank account, I don't have a full use for this. I already got my MX88 piano, which I learned the hard way I need. I could not play piano on this thing. I would break it, like I broke my old korg. Now I treat my new korg like it's made of glass = NO BOOGIE WOOGIE. only mx88 Ya, too bad, those organs sound awesome.

This look like a great concept keyboard but is sound too much like the 90s and not 2020 the only sound i like is the Yamaha C7 piano and strings in the presets. Yamaha need to upgrade there sound quality for me to spend that money on a stage piano. I love Yamaha and real keyboards but for much less money you get better sound with Spectrasonic.

Copy and paste says Nord
@vanessajazp63414 жыл бұрын
Copy and paste? Nord doesn’t have Yamaha’s FM synthesis engine. I find the YC61 organ to be very full and rich, with a nice beefy low end. The problem with this board is that the rotary sim is the worst I’ve ever heard. That alone makes it not worth buying, unless Yamaha fixes it. But for everything else - amazing!
@spankenheim4 жыл бұрын
ok I came into this thinking "woah, someone spraypainted a Nord" but this is a well put together and fantastic sounding machine. I like it. I use a King Korg with a Ferrofish B4000 to kind of serve this function now but...thinking.
