Although the differences became smaller (compared to the YDP 144) the Kawai still has the best sound. There is just more information, more harmonics. It just sounds more musical to me.

A couple of months ago I bought (discounted) the YDP-S34 which is more or less the predecessor of the YDP-145 reviewed here, and already then it was tough comparison shopping against the KDP120. The sound and action of the KDP120 was better but the price difference was significant, and as I mostly was going to use headphones the S34 made more sense. Now with the prices and the sound being a closer match on the new YDP models, I would find it very hard indeed to choose between these pianos. I bought the YDP-S34 specifically to learn to play the piano, and I must say that so far I am very satisfied with it. It sounds beautiful to my ears, and no doubt both of these models sound even better. I think someone learning to play would be happy with either of these.

Actually KDP120 and YDP 145 are not matched rivals, the KDP 75 and the YDP145 are. The KDP 120 should be compared to YDP 165 as the major difference of these two compared to 75/120 is that they both have triple sensor and are meant for intermediate and above.

I bought KDP120 on 24th April 2024 for 36.000₺ in Zuhal Music. (i have to pay approximately 4.000₺ more bcuz of installment) 1$=32,5₺ so it cost me nearly 1107$ (with basic bench). PS: I just wanna buy CN201, i fell in love hovewer, the price difference is challenging for me.

Vallah Ben Videodaki 2 modeli ve bir üst modeli ydp 165 kıyaslıyordum. Bir alternatif ise Yamaha clp 825 oldu. Sonra bu videoyu izlerken yorumlara bakayım dedim. Senin yorumunu gördükten sonra Kawai cn201 nasılmış bir göreyim dedim. karar’ımı sonunda vermiş oldum. Teşekkür ederim, sayende keşfetmiş oldum. Sonra zaten bir çok forumda önerildiğini gördüm. Diğer modellerde hep içime sinmeyen birşey vardı ama cn201 modelinde anında „işte bu“ dedim. Şansıma şuan indirimde. 🎉

Wondering the same, as I have the P125 also. At this price level, I'd need to experience them in person. I bought the P125 based only on online research.

Just to add my experience here, the Yamaha vendor said that p125 was as good as ydp145 , the difference is that p125 is portable keyboard while ydp145 is literally fixed, it’s heavier with few differences ydp has a bench and a fixed wooden stand. However, the prices are very different, p125 is almost 20% cheaper.

@@ethereal_real The P125 does not have the CFX piano voice. The ydp145 does. That makes the YDP145 the more up to date piano. I think the DX670 is a better buy than the P125 because it has the CFX piano voice and so much more. But, it is a lot heavier.

These two pianos have a metal subsounds, they both good for jazz but scarcely not for classical music....

This is misleading. Both pianos are sampled off of acoustic models that are used world-wide on classical music stages. The Kawaii acoustic grand especially so and its aggressive brightness is a part of what it needs to be able to do as a part of an orchestra.

About 54g on the KDP120. Not sure about the YDP145 but I do know that it has a slightly heavier feel.
