@unrepeatable raddish You clearly no nothing about this keyboard. It has a dedicated switch to go directly to the grand piano setting. Purists/elitists might complain that it doesn't sound perfectly liked one, but for most people, it's more than close enough. How do I know this? I own one. Idiot.

​@unrepeatable raddish: Yeah, it's been two years on your comment, but, the "TITLE" says *"Portable Grand"* - The use of the word "Keyboard" is referring to the fact that it is a keyboard and not an actual piano._ So, it is not a Grand Keyboard, but a portable grand (piano), within a keyboard._ Never argue, or tell someone they are wrong, when you, yourself, do not know what you are talking about. :-) Peace!

Weighted keys are a choice based on YOUR preference, not what "they" say....

Personally, I think teachers who tell students they must use fully weighted keys and only fully weighted keys, are simply elitist assholes. I admit that I may be wrong, but I've had ample time to learn to recognize bullshit when I see it...and that sure smells of it. Semi-weighted keys aren't that damned far from the real thing, anyway.

They are semi-weighted, and not Hammer action. It would not be very good for Classical.

for a beginner who only wants to play classical music strictly , i recommend the p-115. the DGX-660 and 535 can also be good for beginners but also for having fun because they're arranger keyboards as well.

Is this a more Advanced Upgrade than my Yamaha YPG-225 Piano/Keyboard? I seems similar than my YPG-225.

I've had this keyboard for 3 years, and I can say that I'm not impressed. The Midi drive on this keyboard is a pain to work with, and there are some glitches with the pedal, as well as the polyphony being too low to play anything complicated. The keys are graded, however they are only semi-weighted, and no matter how hard you play it, the sound will always come across as too loud, and then rattle the speakers in the keyboard. It would work well for a beginner, but getting one of these as an accomplished pianist would be a mistake.
