Yamaha YXZ Packard Supercharger install! Vs YXZ vs X3!

As much as we love Packard's supercharger my GOSH was it a massive pain in the ass! But the YXZ rips!

The funny thing is that Packard include a valve that didn't work then sent a replacement valve that was completely different. How could a good company make that kind of mistake? Thats for the video cause I will steer clear of PACKARD. GGGG

Excellent video. Pretty amazing that a supercharged yxz with only 5 pounds of boost is holding its own against the high boost x3's. I'm real happy with that. Not at all happy with the packard lack of instructions and kit that doesn't really work out of the box. I guess with any new kit there is going to be some glitches but it sucks when the consumer is having to find the issues for the builder. At least everyone is happy with the final product's performance. I'll just put this one on repeat.. :)

If you guys wanna try making your own kit the supercharger head units are 150-200 shipped they are AMR500 sized head units they also make smaller amr300 Head units but that kit you bought is a 500

I just finished it last week I'm taking it to a dyno. I'm still trying to get everything dialed in. And working out some minor bugs. only thing that sucks about the agency supercharger kit so far that I see is the boots keep popping off their plastic intake manifold the Packard was much nicer billit.

And the blower belt gaurd broke from rattling around just driving around the block a few times. also take note the lower throttle body boots will not stay on unless you take the clamp spacers out or put smaller ones on. I learned the hard way. but if everything is done right it definitely rips as soon as you touch the gas.now I'm trying to work out the blower surge at idle. not sure if it's supposed to do that I need to contact vivid racing today to see if that's the way they tuned it

Your DP (Doug pound) conversion is backwards. You said 3.26 DP per Ft lbs(video mark 19:50). That would make DPs less powerful than Ft lbs. Corrections are needed as clearly DPs are more powerful than Ft lbs. Im sure you mean 1 DP is equal to 3.26 ft lbs LOL.

We are installing mine sunday and want to be able to test it if I can because we are going on a riding trip next Thursday. I ordered the upgrade pc5 which I hope will be here before next Thursday but would like to test it if I can before it come since we are going on a trip 4 days after I install it.

We didn't install the fuel controller because it came far after we completed the install. We had the wideband air fuel ratio gauge which allowed us to know if the tune was lean. Everything seemed decent so we went ahead with running it.

Great question man! They had a computer reflash that was used. Eventually they sent a fuel controller for fine tuning.

So, my ignorance will probably show here.... Everything is turbo right now and to be honest they are getting amazing results. In the day turbos were all about running flat out and super chargers would give you monster off the bottom power all the way to the top. Has anyone developed a super charger with the appropriate engine modifications to make real power in the yxz? I know they can make huge power since dragsters run blowers.... not turbos.

A prerequisite for the kit is to send Packard your ECU for tuning prior to installation. They also include a handheld tuner for fine adjustments.
