There is not a more reliable lower maintenance bike to be had. Yz250/250x is flat out unbeatable in that regard. Every aspect of the bike imo is nearly perfect. Everything you need. Nothing you don’t.

I have yz125 2003 an apex head an lectron carb is way to goi have same one as u h series i love lectron carbs so much more power an its smooth an its easier to start im glad to see u have one

there is risk with both style hand guards for sure. I personally prefer the pedal style because they will bend out of the way if you go over your handlebars instead of break your wrist like the full wrap ones can. The pedal style handguards support arms are typically made from a strong but flexible plastic. Another advantage of pedals is they glance off of trees a bit better instead of grabbing your bars and jerking them.

I've heard that the wrap arounds cause broken wrists, but I've been using them for 10 years now and I've gone directly over the bars several times and didn't break my wrists that way.

@@backyardscaler I like the Yamaha more, but the Kawasaki is better suited for adventure riding and camping.

The YZ250 is a great bike, it's unfortunate that all Japanese manufacturers stopped future development of the 2 stroke, they handed that whole market over to KTM a long time ago, did your bike come with the Triple S KYB suspension as that is the best and really only comes on Yamahas, I'm surprised you run 32:1 ratio as all modern synthetic 2 stroke oils provide excellent lubrication at 50:1 but better safe than sorry, your bike looks great, I don't care for graphics with all these after market logos on them unless those are your race sponsers.

How many hours does the top end usually last on one of these?

They recommend doing it by 80hours. But I see a lot of people waiting until 100hours, though it’s risky to wait that long.

My 250x 4 stroke took a crap on me and i decided i might want to give this bike a try. Other than not having electric start or a headlight like my crf250x has It looks like a good base model bike and cheap on maintenance. Im looking for a 2017-2019. I cant afford a 2024 😂.

A yz250 will be faster in 3rd gear as 3rd on the 250x is a shorter gear. 1-2 same, 3 shorter on X, 4-5 taller on X

YZ250 will have a higher speed at the top of 3rd, yes. But in a race, that is where the X starts pulling ahead due to the tighter gear. By the time I was into 4rth gear both Yz250's were eating dust in both races and the gap quickly grew.
