I play Yamaha Drums for 40 years. Thank you having fun for such a long time.❤❤❤

I once owned a Yamaha drum set but there are many many years ago. I bought that Japanese product because I couldn't afford an American brand name drums, so I settled for the second best deal and that was to go to the local Yamaha dealer here in Iceland. And what I walked out was then their top of the line! the Recording 9000 series. And few years later I had moved to USA and went down to the Professional Drum shop in Hollywood, to see what was awalable and found out that the value of my Yamaha drums were double the price of that American stuff like Ludwig, Rogers or Slingerland drums. Anyway to my ears these Yamaha drums as mr. Jimbo is using is the very very best sounding drums I've ever heard. Thank you YAMAHA

I've had the pleasure of being able to tour this facility.... and can honestly say I was blown away with the level of care and the human touch that goes into making these drums. The factory is super advanced, incredibly organized and beyond clean. You can see pretty clearly just how they are making such insanely good quality drums!

Great video. I’m curious about Akira’s gloves. Are they adding support after 40 years of playing? I’ve been playing 45 years and have issues with my hands.
@fistoftulkas73354 жыл бұрын
If you watch his hands closely you can see something's wrong, probably arthritis. Those gloves/braces clearly help to support his wrists and fingers. He's 60 years old, getting old sucks. Notice that he's holding the sticks very lightly, and he's using only double strokes basically. He's not playing singles as fast, as precise and as hard as he used to back in the 80s or 90s.

It’s probably easier to make products in China to keep up with global demand. I prefer Japan made for psychological reasons but in reality I’ve heard that the new China made stuff is an improvement.

@@drummeralbertrivera9577 Yes an improvement. I heard there was a flood in Nashville and a bunch of drums got destroyed but the drums that survived were the new Yamaha drums. I'm 48 and got my Recording Customs when I was 19. And other Yamaha gear has come and gone but those are still with me. I've just never had a real desire to try anything else. That's what their stuff does to people. The China thing just bums me out though. Can't seem to get over the hump with that.

Ordered RC 4 piece shell pack/20 inch bass .. added a 8 inch tom ... ETA has changed 3 times .. latest is end of this month July /2020 ... if it reaches Aug I will have waited 7 months ... Ordered from major online retailer ... has anyone experience this long of a wait ... I would imagine Covid had something to do with the wait , any info greatly appreciated ..very difficult waiting this long , upside is I will have a newly manufactured set ...

Yes. I ordered mine in early May and was told they’d be in first of July. I ordered a four piece with a 22x18 in the Gadd Classic Black. Still no sign of it. They’re projecting into November now I think. I do believe it’s issues with not being able to get them shipped in due to COVID. I had honestly thought about changing my order to a Hybrid Maple but I don’t think I’d be satisfied with them.

I love Yamaha drums and am a very proud owner of the Yamaha hot red power recording custom drum set. I always thought they made there best instruments when they were made in Japan. Highest quality is what I’m getting at even all there guitars were very high end quality the most sought after. Now that most are made in China I can tell you that the quality has went down. You can tell by the quality of the drum lugs and hardware however the phoenix is still made in Japan and there higher end instruments

I never said the Chinese made Yamaha drums were better. He is wrong about the lesser quality of the China made Yamahas. I own an old set of Japan made Yamaha drums. I have also played on numerous Chinese made Yamaha kits and inspected the shells. They were all fantastic drums with no noticeable flaws. I would love to own an absolute hybrid maple kit. Great drums.
@luvomdleleni843 жыл бұрын
For those of us with negative thoughts about these drums coming out of China, have we had any experience with playing the drums ourselves and ACTUALLY checking the quality of the fit and finish? Can those of us who ACTUALLY own these drums help us with REAL facts about their experience with these kits? Those of us who do not own them, let us reserve our criticism up until the point where we have played and experienced the drums. Otherwise the comments we make will not be FACTUAL but will be based on pure ignorance. Let's do our best to avoid the latter. Take care!

let's not bull shit ourselves here people. There is one reason and one reason only why Yamaha dumped Sakae (who made the best drums in the world). And outsourced their manufacturing to China and that's cost of labor. No one produces things in china to get a better quality product, and if you believe this, you are a fool. Funny how the cost of a yamaha kit only went up, while the finish options only went down. I would take a Sakae build oak custom kit over anything they produce in the new factory.

It's depressing and no matter how many videos and recordings come out with great sounding Chinese Yamahas I have a hard time getting over it, mentally.
@rle4405 жыл бұрын
I agree. I just can’t make it alright in my mind. I respect Chinese craftsmanship, but it isn’t right that Yamaha is charging what they are if they are building the drums for less labor cost.
@Assimilator7024 жыл бұрын
RL E Yes Im shocked at how much Yamaha charges for their non Japan made drums. At least Tama kept the cost basically the same when they made all Starclassic drums in Japan then over to China in 2009. The price of a 5 piece B/B Kit was $1700 and it was $2200 in 2018 which can be attributed to inflation. The current Birch/Walnut are the same price and the quality is just as good as the Japan factory. I just bought a Yamaha Recordimg Custom Aluminum snare and was bummed to see Made in Taiwan on the badge. For $500 Tama can at least offer the Starphonic snares and the wood shells are made right in the Japan factory.

RL E I have one also. Very nice sounding drums. They have a bit more cut and a slightly longer note than the Birch/Bubinga line. I just found a MIJ Bubinga Elite 8,10,12,16,22 in Metallic Black for a killer price. I just need to find a 14” floor tom and maybe an 18” and I’ll have my dream kit.
@scherry98194 жыл бұрын
NO THANKS, I'LL JUST BUY A USED MADE IN JAPAN SET ON REVERB, EVEN AT THE PREMIUM MONEY THAT THE MIJ DRUMS GET. IT'S A DISGRACE TO YAMAHA AND JAPAN THAT THEY HAVE OFF SHORED THEIR PREMIUM PRODUCT. DISGRACE. I'D ALSO CONSIDER THE NEW YC61 ORGAN THAT'S COMING OUT, BUT I HAVE A FEELING THAT IT'S NOT MADE IN JAPAN EITHER.
