A much-in-demand session drummer, Ian has worked with some incredible artists such as Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, George Michael, Tom Jones, Seal, Rufus Wainwright, Mike + The Mechanics Official, Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton and many others.

I saw him live at Ronnie’s, his playing was so groovy and tasteful. I went for a lesson with Ian Thomas about a year ago. It was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. He’s such a nice guy who offered some great advice, particularly with confidence. I think it’s really great that someone at the top of their tree and as good as Ian talks about having belief in yourself because it most definitely isn’t talked about. It’s very easy to self doubt yourself when there’s so many amazing players out there and finding work at times can be hard. But remember; that if you work hard and try to escape becoming insular and you take the opportunities when they arrive by being prepared, then good things can only happen. It’s helped me a great deal. Great video Yamaha!

Had the pleasure off seeing Ian Thomas in both the Gareth Williams Trio and in Brandon Allen's Sextet last night at Ronnie Scott's. What a player, absolutely fantastic. And watching this he seems like such a nice guy and a proper conscientious musician too!
