Honestly, I ship these two so hard. A relationship between Shizuku and Yamaken would be so much healthier than if it was between her and Haru. Don't get me wrong, I love Haru. But, in all honesty, he can be quite selfish and juvenile. Shizuku is mature and levelheaded, and would almost look at him as more of a child than a lover. Another thing is, though, is that he's an obstruction to Shiuku's dreams and aspirations. If she ends up with him, all of her hard work would have been for nothing. Yamaken is intelligent and has similar goals to Shizuku's, therefore, if anything, could help Shizuku work towards her dreams; they could use each other to lean on. Whereas Haru is a distraction that just pulls her down. I know Haru brings out things in her that no one can, but you have to take Shizuku's hard work and aspirations into account. They can't just be thrown away. Yamaken can be an arrogant jerk at times, but he sincerely likes Shizuku, and it's clear that she's the type of person that can handle it. He's rational, and I think that's something that Shizuku needs in a guy. Someone who can make up his mind, and be firm, calm and confident in his decisions and actions.

I watched the anime and finished the manga couple times. Usually I hate the main character's love rivals. Anyway, I can never hate Yamaken but the opposite. Yes I agree with you. If she chose Yamaken, things will be more compatible and easy with them as the couple. They can support each other and work hard together while going out like Yamaken said. He won't make her just worry and be able to treat her better. Many comments in manga sections blamed Shizuku that's she too dense and hurt Haru's feelings. I don't agree with that at all. It's Haru who just did and said what he wanted suddenly to Mitty. He has his background but Mitty has hers too. Mother has to be away working that's why she needs good career and set her goal on it. Meanwhile Haru is the genius that doesn't need to work hard on study. He's fooling around, get close to anyone without thinking and get the girl Ooshima come to love him. Big heart Shizuku let Haru and that girl had a date, spending time together on Valentine's day since that girl asked Shizuku for it. Another girl be able to give Haru chocolate first. What makes Haru deserve Shizuku at this point? Only thing is Shizuku loves him and never changes. He rejected Mitty for few times and I never seen he protected her or tried anything hard for Mitty as the boyfriend or someone that likes her. After all, it's Mitty who's royal to Haru and supported him with his dream. When Shizuku rejected Yamaken, she did it straightforward and asked him to be a friend. I am not against Haru and Mitty. I am happy for them since it's the choice those two made to be together. It's just the whole story from the beginning till the end, it's shown that Yamaken is better for Mitty.
