Yamandu is truly one of a kind! And such a beautiful human being! Great reaction, by the way! You should definitely do "Sarará" next that he wrote for his grandmother! Story goes that when he sent her one of his solo albums with only instrumental songs, and asked her what she thought, she replied: "The album only has introductions, no music!" (LOL!) Soon he made a song with lyrics to dedicate to her. And it's beyond mind blowing. Cheers!

in my opinion, the greatest guitar player alive, but because his music is not mainstream, nobody knows about him 😢

The syncopated harmonies!! He is truly talented on that 7-string guitar. I loved watching your faces while he was playing. You showed such awe and respect for his technique. Great reaction on this mind-blowing music!! Thank you, Edson. 🎶 Cyd

7 string guitars are very common in Brasil in "Choro" groups, they provide the bass part and a counterpoint. According to Yamandu, the 7 string guitar came from Russia to Brasil.

This song is a tribute to Rafael Rabello. an idol for Yamandu and who made him play the 7-string guitar. Of course, this is not a song I listen to every day. This is for admirers who truly understand music. he is for one of the best guitarists in the world. but of course it's beyond my knowledge of music. It's music to enjoy. As I said, this is “making love” with the guitar😂😂

Yamandu is one of the best acoustic guitar player in the world. He plays the 7-string guitar as well as the more conventional six-string. In Brazil, where he was born, the 7-string guitar is quite common in samba

Not in samba, in "choro".

We have been using the 7-string guitar since the late 19th century. In samba, choro, and other musical cultures, it is very common to use a 7-string guitar.

I love hearing that! I had no idea. I never really listened to Latin music before…or it was just in passing or very briefly. It’s so cool to learn these things.

@@musikbyjh There’s even some debate about who invented the 7-string guitar-whether it was the Brazilians or the Russians 🤣

7 sting acoustic guitar is actualy very common in Brazil. Not as common as the classic 6 string, but it appears in most samba groups, because there is (most usually) no bass, so it does the harmony and the bass at the same time

It's funny how US people call al music South of Rio Grande as "Latin Music". This is wrong, there are thousands of different musical styles in Latin America and Brasil stands out as the most rich musically speaking. Brasil has a lot of "finger style" guitarists that you are not aware of, all of them playing with nails. Do a KZbin research and listen to some: Baden Powell, Raphael Rabello, Paulo Belinatti, Paulinho Nogueira, Alessandro Penezzi, Marcus Tardelli and others.
