Maybe lets do Chovy and why he found success during domestic... compared to why he couldn't beat T1 in worlds. Meta changes for me, not necessarily that I believe in a Meta. However GenG used to just perma blind Yone and Azir. Didn't see that this tournament, maybe it was a mind control situation. Either way, that's something I'd be interested in seeing. Another one is why BLG just couldn't overcome T1 even though Bin got Jax so many times in finals. So a focus on why Bin's Jax is so strong and why it also failed to overcome T1. For that I feel Jax needs time to get to scale, but is countered immensely by peel/disengage champs like Poppy, Renata and the big Galio!

@@TheArccam I believe adc mid meta ruin him, especially how much he over reliant with Corki and currently Smolder. Yone got perma ban and Azir is weak af, even Faker who used to perma blind him, not picking Azir at all in Worlds.

Keria has been the strongest support in the world since 2021 in my opinion, people would make comments on how some splits (like this summer) he underperformed and was miles below lehends or delight but it's just one split stat, on other splits people would praise how insane he is overall. He has the biggest champion pool out of any support, being able to play ranged or engage, and being able to pick new ideas and try them in order to dictate what is played in the bot lane people can't deny that with the results it had, is an incredible skill on its own. Sure he is weaker on engage support than ranged, but he can still play them to an incredible degree, his thresh (for one example) is top tier. The first support to receive the split mvp in the lck (if I am not mistaking) and like Oner, during worlds he is just so good, he just scales better than most (we could talk about lehends, on, delight wich all of them kinda fell down during important games). In general he is not afraid to try things and play differently, much like Faker, it doesn't always play out but when it does they cruch the competition. I still don't understand how people would underestimate him, it's been 3 years, 3 years the same mistakes from pre worlds tier lists.. Keria is just that talented he can play bad but it can happen to everyone, let's not forget how Chovy despite being the strongest mid laner has had weak tournaments.

I think the biggest thing is that Keria isn't afraid to do something completely random that his opponents just aren't used to seeing or doing. Anything from just busting out an ADC that completely throws off pick/ban, to a roam timing that "doesn't make sense" from an efficiency standpoint just to show up in midlane and get a flash. Keria just disrupts the way that a game is supposed to play out. In a lot of ways, it's the same thing Madlife did during his time, except Keria has the longevity already. It also doesn't hurt that he's legitimately mechanically skilled.

Sometimes I wonder why T1 never did this in Summer, MSI and Spring. They do this thing where if you pick tank / engage sp, you're gonna get f-ed by ranged support because Keria will take it and push his ranged advantage onto enemy bot lane and get lane prio THEN roam to push other lanes. AND EVEN IF you pick ranged supports, you STILL won't play better than Keria playing ranged supports. He'll hit his skillshots with Guma and the next thing you know, you gotta press B to heal up. Instead noOoOOOo, T1 always gambled with lane swap in all other seasons. They somehow remembered "oh right, we could just do what we did last year and pick ranged supports now in Worlds!". Like ????? Like why did it take you so long to finally pull out ranged supports? You were dominant with it!

I haven't played league in ages but I still watch competitive for this reason, for how crazy complicate the game is from the perspective of a ProPlayer playing on stage and taking split second decision every 15 seconds and make sure that your decision match and sync within the whole team. Damn, every time somebody says that League is not a sport... I wish they can see it from this exact point of view.

Hi Yamato, love you. Hope you continue persuing a career as an esports coach. Now, on to the Keria thing. I am tired of the false narratives, based on form. Look, just because another player is winning more doesn't mean the status quo of what we've concluded has changed. People forget that Keria was smurfing on people with Singed and Camille support. That he did this to even Gen G and that at no point did Keria stop being the best. What actually happened was botlane was weakened due to many factors. The biggest being the advent of Laneswap. T1 couldn't get Guma and Keria to be the monsters they are and that immensely weakened T1. Now obviously one may argue that even T1 took advantage of laneswaps but that doesn't change the fact that T1 won worlds through botlane supremacy. Keria is the best support in the world, he has been for three years now. No one, from any region has come close to what he is able to do on specific champions. From Bard to Pyke, Keria just continues to remind us that he's still so very intelligent and clever on where the map is vulnerable and where it's not. Until another support shows the same level of botlane dominance, in internationals and regionally, Keria will remain the best support. No more talks about Miky or Missing or On or whoever... it's Keria then there's a gap then the rest.

@@TheArccam Keria has the highest peaks but he has had periods in his career where there are supports better then him - I don't think it's right to discredit the value of regional competitions and MSI
@TheArccam
@TheArccam 23 күн бұрын
@@YamatoCannon213 From that standpoint yes, however I know that this can apply to every player in every role. There are peaks and troughs that every single player in every single sport goes through. Other competitions matter and I am aware of the lacklustre performances at those competitions. I would not say however that T1's failure is all down to Keria. It's clear more than ever that T1 struggle to play league which incorporates their topside (aside from the last two worlds finals where that's the side that won them the series). You can even see poetry in the idea T1 would be three time world champions if not for Deft and Beryl resisting their botlane and Kingen producing a monumental performance. For me, when we talk the best in the role. We not only discuss form, but we discuss potential peak. If you take an example from other sports, like... Curry. He's the best shooter in the NBA, even if he is no longer producing the same high volume scoring as he did before. Keria does things other supports will never be able to do. Not just the fundamentals, but the magic of his mechanics. The depth of his champ pool, and the execution of complex strategic rotations. Most players understand the fundamentals, the other things a few can only touch. Teams have grown and adjusted to T1, they know that you can't allow them to get Caitlyn-Lux. (or laneswap). They know that going even in bot is good enough. They know to exploit Oner and Zeus's inability to coordinate. Without Faker, T1 can't even get their topside and botside to work together (as shown by their struggle to make playoffs last year before going 9-9 in regular season). I imagine next year, if GenG don't continue their domestic dominance. The narrative that Chovy was never really the best midlaner in the world will come to fruition. It's here where I find esports rhetoric annoying, as it ignores how dominant certain players can and have been. For the community to grow and have strong conclusions on league. We need to consider that form, is temporary and the class (that is the best a player can show) will always remain.
@YamatoCannon213

@@TheArccam Keria should be in the support goat conversation as he warps the game etc and his competition that has been better then him at certain points don't have longevity either (Missing, ON, Lehends, Delight etc). I think it's fair to praise players that have been dominant the whole year and expect them to do well coming into the world championship and I think it's important to be fair. I am releasing a video on how the world championship is different and I'll go into details of what T1 bring to the world championship that the others don't. I think it was my mistake to judge worlds the same as other tournaments/regionals because its just functionally very different.

Keria has been the best support in the world for a couple of years now. Besides 2023 summer when Faker was out injured the whole of T1 played pretty bad. Keria has been pretty much the one who makes everything happen for the team. When Keria plays well, they almost always win and when Keria plays like Mikyx they have no shot at winning.

Honeslty Yamato's opinion lost a lot of credibility when he ranked Zeus 3rd top at the tournament. The way Zeus played those weekside dives no one was doing. Might not of been the carry but his ability to absorb pressure was unmatched. To have the impact he did with such little team proximity and resources makes him at least number 2 of not number 1
@cate48927
@cate48927 23 күн бұрын
Yamato explained that the reason why he put bin and kiin #1 and #2 is because they had to work a lot more for their team (especially kiin vs flyquest, they could have srsly lost if it wasn’t for kiin), also Zeus did play those dives well but Yamato said that his 2 points were that 1) Zeus shouldn’t have been there in the first place and 2) the enemy team misplayed many times, making it possible for him to actually survive most of the dives. I think it’s reasonable to value these factors, he didn’t say Zeus played bad, he did have an amazing Worlds, it’s just in the contest of the tournament and the games we watched you have to value how much kiin and bin had to do to win their games.

@cate48927 that makes even less sense just because T1 had a better team Zeus gets 3rd? The whole reason everyone could do what they do is that they were as a team the best in the world and Zeus individually played the highest level most consistently in his position. In the head to head match up with who Yamato claims is #1 and #2 Zeus neutralized or outshines. That really negates what happened in other games you get a direct comparison. Zeus grag made bin Jax nothing special outside of 1 fight. was better the other games
