Jester was born into a noble family where he suffered no hardship & joined the Magic Knights where he met and befriended Tinya who came from a remote village near the Diamond Kingdom and Rade from the Common Realm, despite their different social status and background, they pushed each other to improve and grow together as mages. Shortly after Jester is appointed Magic Knight captain, Tinya's village is invaded by the Diamond Kingdom and the Clover Kingdom can't make a move to protect a remote village. Jester and his squad disobey orders so as to rescue the village and succeed despite the overwhelming odds, but Tinya is killed in battle. After the battle, Jester achieved so many military victories as a captain that he eventually became the Wizard King. One day, Tinya's village came under attack again by the enemy and Jester rushed to the rescue alone, intent on crushing the attackers with his bare hands but it turned out to be a trap set up by Rade, who was an undercover Diamond Kingdom spy, to kill Jester; but Jester survives the trap while killing the ambushers one by one, including Rade. After losing both Tinya and Rade, Jester, in his grief and seeking to prevent further tragedies, came up with the ultimate solution: conquest of the four kingdoms. Despite being called the "Mad King" for his ambitions he gradually earned the support of the people. Jester however fell into a trap set by the royal faction who disliked his growing influence and lost his life in the process of achieving his goals, tho not before killing the royalists with his terrifying Trump card.

I lowkey think that Jester was maybe stronger than Conrad (before fusing with his compound magic). Think about it: It only took Asta to beat Conrad (before he fused with his stolen magic), yet it took Yuno, Yami, Fueogolean, and Nozel to beat Jester. Yes, the captains were weakened, but its still a feat nonetheless. Plus, we didn't even see Jester use all of his power. If Jester isn't the strongest wizard king here, then he is definitely the second strongest. The one Mereoleona fought was tough, but Mereloean was able to actually beat her in a fair 1v1, indicating that the female wizard king is weaker than Conrad AND Jester.

@@jantheking7028 I think Jester and Conrad(before his transformation)are about evenly matched. Keep in mind Conrad 10 years ago was beating Julius, Yami, Nozel, Fuegoleon, Mereoleona, and Kaiser. Conrad was genuinely gonna win that fight if Yami didn't save Julius's ass and give him enough time to get the drop on him and seal him away. That and his Key Magic is just as if not even more versatile than Jester's Barrier Magic. One thing's for sure. Conrad and Jester are easily the top 2 of the group.

@@stormbringer7773 Well you also have to remember that Julius and all the captains were drastically weaker 10 years ago. Think about just how strong Yami and Mereoleona have gotten over the course of the story. The story has taken place across 2-3 years yet Yami and Merelona have gone from Patri/Vetto level, to stronger than some devils by now. The captains 10 years ago probably wouldn't have even been able to beat Vetto from the seaking arc. You gotta remember that wizards in the universe get vastly stronger over time, so just because Conrad was beating the captains 10 years ago doesn't mean he would be able to do the same to the modern captains. I still think its safe to say Jester is stronger than pre-transformation Conrad. The real debate is whether the female wizard king is stronger than the ice wizard king, cuz I honestly have no idea.

I think one's magic attribute is really important in these battles as all of the captains+yuno are attack type mages and jester is a wizard king with barrier magic . So durability and defence are his forte and as a wizard king he is very good at offence also . They need someone who has very good hax like Julius to or someone with incredible attack power + speed which could overcome his barrier like mereoloena to defeat him . Yami has very good hax and attack potential but he doesn't have enough mana to cast spells while fuegoleon and Nozel kept spamming spells he saved his mana to finally pull off a dimensional slash if Yami had all of his mana he could have at least done the damage all of them did collectively by himself and pushed jester to go all out like he did in the end . And the rest of captains and yuno then could have defeated him .

The best Wizard King out of the 4 imo, Princnia got solo’d, Edward although go easy on black bulls got outplayed Conrad lost to devil asta + imperial blade (+ plot armor), Jester best Yuno, Yami (who kinda have plot armor too) and also Nozel and Fugeoleon. Bro wasn’t even going all out yet.
