It actually means “Dark” or “Darkness” in Japanese. You’ll notice he says “Yami Mahou” whenever he uses magic. Not sure if you knew or not but that’s a cool little touch by the author

well technically light loses a little energy to the mirror each time it bounces when a laser is formed. thats why i think in lasers the mirrors are electrified and the tube that reflects the light is a vaccuum so no air can take energy away. i might be wrong and the air is electrified but u get the point. mirrors arent omnipotent so some of the heat energy would transfer to the mirror. and also it loses energy when it bounces unless its electrified so they could just call luck

Popular fan theory is Yami was in fact isekaied from Japan. 320 chapters into the manga and so far nothing either confirms nor denies this theory. All we know is he’s from “The Land of the Sun” - whatever that ultimately means.

As the anime goes on, there will be filler, recap and some boring episodes, BUT please don't give up on it. This show is the kind that becomes better later on. Also, Yami always give me feeling that he is an isekai protagonist and that Black Clover itself is a spin-off story of him. May be he was sucked into a black hole created by his own dark magic and came to Black Clover world, lol.😂

Julius is by far stronger than licht the reason he didn't defeat licht few ep ago is because of plot armor. Also, julius can solo the (current anime) captains and also the (current anime) villains which are by far stronger then licht. I can't wait for you guys to see ep 170, there are alot of amazing eps before that but for me ep 170 is a masterpiece and one of my fav anime eps of all time although there isn't some crazy fight in that ep it's just so good
