Yep I bought a Husky Svartpilen because of watching Yammie Noob. Love it. My kids love it. So much fun to ride. No problems other than when the kids wheelie and drop it. And best of all the repairs from those incidents have been surprisingly inexpensive. Absolutely recommend it.

@@ryannimmert7059 Insurance costs are moderate. Its a low cost, low powered bike. And as I have found out not expensive to repair from minor mishaps. All the parts that I replaced were very reasonable and easy to do myself. No plastic faring makes it a good bike for teenagers. And as a dad rider I love riding it too. Its a ton of fun.

Just got my M endorsement and almost got a Husky 401, but I'm a short guy and I thought I could deal with it but had some other things to look at. Ended up on a super comfortable and super cheap RE Hunter 350. I'm having a great time with it and not having to think about the weight of the bike or if it was going to take off on me due to poor throttle control. I ride it around the outer edges of my city and it's so easy and comfy I will likely end up commuting with it on my 15 minute commute. It's also great for a beginner making me fairly confident in my ability to hang with local street traffic, but my chill older self not needing to outrun everything. Once I get some more experience under my belt with lots of practice, I'll upgrade to something more powerful, but I don't think I'll get rid of this little treat to ride.

Well, best urban two wheelers are obviously scooters. And if you want a bigger bike you will be looking at some of the same properties that make scooters great. And one of the biggest factors for urban suitability is not having to fiddle with gears every few meters on red lights and intersections. Get a Honda with DCT. NC 750 even has a cargo space like a scooter.

I totally disagree. I went from a scooter to a Ducati Scrambler in Bangkok. A super dense city with tons of motorcycle and car gridlock traffic. It feels infinitely safer. More power to accelerate, merge, get out of the way etc. Far better brakes and just as nimble. It's not a peaky small bore engine so you you can lug it around in the same gears most of the time and you barely use the clutch with quick shift. Only real downside I've found is the rear cylinder can get uncomfortably hot when you're sitting at stop lights.

I got cb500x 2022 model, bought it in late 2021 as first in my country. I swapped my cb650r for it. It has half of power but it’s the best bike ever sold by a man. 500cc may not sound so powerful but all of that torque is accessible just from 2000 rpm. I rode my friend cb500r from 2016 but it’s totally different bike and engine is totally different too! Cb500r got powerband at about 5500 rpm but 500x got that power instantly from the bottom end, and it really can kick, drop You just from start.. Anyway this bike has fuel mileage 2.8-3.4 liter / 100km when riding max 130kmh, when more it use only 3.9… my old 650r burn 3x of that and felt much weaker than this 500x.. 4 cyl bikes are usable only from 150kmh+ speeds. If somebody is thinking of getting 500x I suggest to buy it and don’t think about any other bike. Get proper exhaust like yoshimura and feel harley-like sound from just 0.5 liter bike ! Go check KZbin for its sound. It’s really everywhere-go bike!

I got a Ducati scrambler after several years of having vespa in Bangkok. It is an infinitely better city bike to have IMHO than a scooter. You can accelerate out of trouble, merge better, dart into an available opening in traffic better. It has better brakes and is just as nimble if not more-so when lane splitting (50% of your riding in gridlocked downtown Bangkok). The only downside I've found is that waiting at stoplights in the mid day sun that the back cylinder gets uncomfortably hot. This wouldn't be an issue in most American cities with cooler temps and less traffic but in a dense HOT city while I wouldn't go back to a scooter I might consider a non v-twin that is liquid cooled to keep the temps down. The Ducati is certainly a beautiful and popular bike though. Many times when parking at a cafe or restaurant people ask if they can take their picture with it.

If you live in the city and there's a lot of traffic, I'd recommend just getting a scooter of some sort. Many maxi-scooters have plenty of power, have useful storage under the seat, and best of all, there are absolutely no gear changes - no going up and down between first and second seventeen trillion times on your way to work in traffic. Also, most have fairly fat bodies on them - if someone decides to bump into you with their bumper, it'll hit the body and not your leg! I have a nearly fixed left ankle, so a motorcycle gear shifter isn't doable for me, so I went the scooter route. I've got a 350cc maxi-scooter with a nice LCD display and phone integration so that I can use navigation, etc. (mounting your phone is illegal in my country if you are a newer rider).

Theyre based on the 600 fazer which is a R6 lump detuned. I bought my fazer with 14000 miles on it and rode it 2 years and did 24000 on it until it was stolen from a housing estate in London even though it had 38000 miles on it however it never ever broke down and your FZ6 is fuel injection and will be so reliable. Yamahas have nailed the 600cc sector of inline 4s but in truth whether its suzuki, honda or kawasaki theyre all great apart from old zzr600 from the early 90s that had top end valve issues and some of the 550 shaft drive despatch bikes that had a gearbox weakness as at least 5 of them had out of the fleet of company bikes. The zxr636 were very fast and really good however and i must admit if you get a clean, regularly serviced one you will be onto a screaming lot of fun.

I know it's a "generational difference" because you have to pull a choke knob on the DRZ. My only fuel injected bike is an Indian, but I'm keeping the Thunderace - cause choke knobs make me happy!

The best city bike by a long mile is the Buell XB series of bikes. No contest.

Bought an SCL500 about 2 weeks ago. Great ride, suspension helps riding in the city. Dash is super dim in afternoon sun, even on highest setting. Biggest issue is I had a sleeve come out of an oil jet so its already back at the dealer being worked on 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I would say that ANY RELIABLE mid to low cc ADV or DualSport bike with the right tires, makes a great City commuter IMO 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve been planning on getting the svart for a few years now. Mainly because of your videos. Next spring I’ll be getting one, maybe. Honda came out with the scl500, and I love the look of it. I need you to do a video of that, and maybe compare it to the svart for a beginner! ❤❤

haha, i put on nearly 2k miles last summer on a grom as my primary form of transportation. just have to budget in extra time on the long trips as you are not going on the highway and avoid any steep hills :p

Nice video on all the new stuff. Yet I’m still stuck in 1996! KTM 300 EXC rebuilt n tweaked. I live at 7200 ft up and gives me the nice piss off everyone noise, since it’s a 2 stroker. Lol. Damn parts are getting hard to find! Style is everything!
