so I'm both a female motorcyclist and doctor in training to become a medical examiner (we do forensic/medicolegal autopsies), and I get to see the worst of what can happen in bike crashes. Can't go into details but some of the things I've seen will stick with me for life. He's not wrong. I used to be friends with a female rider who was married, had a kid/ family, etc. The attention went straight to her head and now she's divorced, sadly. I think it would be safe to assume that the attention from millions of guys who see her content with less protective gear and more skimpy clothing on likely played a part in that. And subsequently after seeing that change in her, I stopped following her content. It really is a shame to see people change like that and to see SOME female riders use their bodies for attention, rather than relying on producing great content.

Your right. One of the biggest issues that I see is these guys posting videos of them doing these wot runs on freeways, while filtering through traffic (albeit thin traffic). This is one of the reasons I think we are seeing states passing laws making lane filtering illegal. Because what people see on the internet, they will do. I know there are plenty of us that have been doing this for far longer than the internet has been around, but when you get popular influencers doing it, you get a whole lot more people doing it.

As one of those influencers, I’d say in the UK most motorcyclists are pretty good, it’s usually the delivery riders on the 125 scooters that are the ones with particularly bad habits and unpredictability. Filtering in the UK is legal but filtering is only allowed when going past slow moving or stationary traffic. If the traffic is doing the speed limit or just under and you’re going past at the limit + 15-20 mph, that’s NOT filtering it’s illegal overtaking. If motorcyclists do that they deserve to be made to look bad. Call me a kill joy if you want, but a lot of cyclists and motorcyclists want everyone else to obey the law of the road but want themselves to be exempt, and be able to blame other road users for their bad riding.

I remember commenting on one of MotoJitsu‘s videos- where he’s clearly showing a Harley Davidson motorcycle, leaning pretty heavily- and then Greg’s narration says he’s “unable to lean”. Dude, you’re not even looking at what’s on your own video? He just deleted the comments and ANY comments he doesn’t like. He’s got another one where he supposedly teaching some woman how to ride and he’s behind her and she scrubs a tiny little bit of speed going into a corner and he was like “that’s very dangerous”… the truth is she was gapping him pretty good on the same section of Palomar Mountain that is in all 5000 of his “training videos”… he was butthurt. Of course, he appears to be “fast”-He’s running the same 10 mile section of road every damn day of his life. Kevin at MC Rider and Dan the fireman are even worse. They don’t actually know how to ride motorcycles at all. In fact, they don’t ride motorcycles they ride -land yachts. Kevin is supposedly an MSF instructor so he’s irresponsibly glued to the slow, look, press and roll curriculum-which is an absolute bullshit way of learning turning. Dan shows nothing but accident videos & scares the shit out of people-

Couldn’t agree more with everything you touched on. Gixxer Brah as you said is very entertaining to watch, but it also pisses me off. Doesn’t matter how skilled he is, it will only be a matter of time before he kills himself and family’s out on the road. As they say, live by the sword die by the sword.

gixxer brah did not intend on "blowing up your turbo busa" he just had the bad luck of it blowing up while he was riding it like you told him to.. i mean it was a ticking time bomb ! it was not a matter of "if it blows up" but a matter of "when it was going to blow up" it was an inevitability but you have a really REALLY good proper bike mechanic ( who also happens to be a fellow youtuber ) working on getting the beast back up and running again! and remember! I've met very few people that started on a 600cc sport bike and it wasn't a hindrance to their progression as a rider. I started on a 20 year old, but safe (lol), clapped out early 80s 35hp 650cc twin I got for $500, and rode that thing to its absolute limits (and beyond, unfortunately, RIP). my friends with 600cc sport bikes were still terrified of their own bikes a year or two later. they'd warn me off getting anything bigger than a 600cc. I'd take a run on their bike and be like "dang that's fun as heck, but I wonder what a little more mid-range power would help in exiting a corner to the straight?". their response was always "nah bra, you don't need anything bigger, you'll die" >inb4 lies about starting on a Busa and winning local track days

There is a lot of issues like this all over the internet. Fake gamer influencers which is a more safe hobby, what's even worse is streamer influencers that pull "public pranks" on sites like Kick and probably ruin lives in the process mentally like I seen vids talking about how they "accidentally doxx someone live" and shit, scumbag idiots. I had a bunch of low subscribe count people recommended to me as well about all sorts of topics mostly in the gaming space, they're not half bad and have something better to say than 100k subs oftentimes, just YT's attempt for them to grow I guess, the YT algorithm changes in weird ways lol, but I haven't seen many bad influencers motorcycle related yet as much compared to lotta others.

I’m a new rider currently in the process of getting a motorcycle. I was ready to get a ol’ liter bike because in my dumb monkey brain power=fun blah blah blah and I *like to imagine* that I can totally handle it and be responsible but this channel and all the other few that I watch kept hammering home being safe first and foremost. It’s definitely not “fun” but it’s smart lol. In any case, Im going with a much more conservative choice for a first bike and splurged on gear so the inevitable slide doesn’t take my skin with it lol. Point is, you, Yammie, and all the other responsible content creators are getting thru to at least a few of us knuckleheads out there. I appreciate you!

After i got my endorsement i started watching safety videos and just absorbing knowledge about bikes in general. been almost 2 years and i still dont have a bike but i feel much more confident in staying alive after watching the hundreds of videos from you guys in this time. I appreciate the knowledge yall bring and realistic approaches to riding.

Yesterday on my way home from work I saw a beautiful young lady on a sport bike. Booty shorts, crop top, tennis shoes, ear buds and no helmet. Two consecutive stop lights she stalled the bike when the light turned green. The second light the bike would not restart. I said a prayer for her and hope she got where she was going safely.

I don't necessarily agree. Redbull athletes show dangerous stunts all the time. It's spectacular. It's amazing that they can do these feats. But when someone rides a motorcycle fast and hard, which takes skill, it is not seen as skill. It's looked at as hooliganism. But the X games shows things like this all the time. It also changed lots of minds of extreme sports and made them acceptable. I have gone 147 mph. Everyone assumes that I go 147 mph everywhere, all the time. Also it's never around traffic, or endangering anyone other than myself. Country roads with no cops, or traffic = 🤛.

People won't like it, but that's why bullying is important. If you're giving bad info or have a terrible opinion about something that could be life or death for a new rider... I'm absolutely gonna call you out. I've been bullied, too, for some of my bad takes. And I learn. The street scene especially the online presence is cringe and disturbing to me. They're glorifying sport bikes for adrenaline and a death wish. I've had a lot of people die on the street, it's not a game and you should care.

Skill is useless if you have no common sense, sooner or later Karma will catch up with you and hopefully that rider only ruins their own life and not some innocent bystander or other motorist on the road. As a dumb young kid in the 80's it only took me riding once on a track to completely change my style and mindset on the road. I stopped canyon carving and took it to the track when I wanted my thrills, much better chance of walking away when you go down at 120+ on a track then if you go down on the road. Stay safe my young friend.. 🤘😎🏍

I think the issue starts deeper. Let's face it, if every time you turn the key your cockpit says "Ready to race", or if the commercial for a bike is a pro pulling stunts in city streets (closed off, as it always says in miniscule captions)... the message is that you're buying something to speed and pull stunts, not to go on a gentle ride to through the neighbourhood

@SimonRiley752 no I disagree, I don't think manufacturers should be let off the hook that easily. If you crash in a Tesla on autopilot while you were asleep at the wheel, you're to blame because you were driving carelessly, but Tesla's also to blame, because it sold you on a feature that doesn't do what the name and marketing pretends. Not every Tesla driver falls for it, but if Tesla isn't allowed to market its feature as full self-driving, certainly less drivers will think their car can drive itself. Same goes for motorcycle marketing, if a bikes weren't allowed to be sold as "race machines for the road" but were presented as potentially dangerous vehicles that need to be used with care, which they are, that'd be a good starting point.

One would hope that in general people would understand these bike tall tales are hyperbolic. Watching some of these left me wondering how anyone would try to pull off this sort thing without a death wish. To stay alive on a motorcycle there are times where you must break some traffic laws. I know this is a fact because I have been riding since 1956. Unfortunately some of the laws are designed as one size fits all. The passing time and distance for most motorcycles is only 25 to 30 percent of that for a car. Behind one of those unsteady and erratic car drivers put you at serious risk. Traveling in one of those mobile traffic jams is suicidal. Speeding down rural roads at twilight and at night will give you a chance to meet lots of wildlife ( deer, hogs dogs and livestock). I raced bikes for years and was never injured. On the mean streets is a different story, as I have been down seriously twice. I have been very lucky in 68 years of riding. I still ride several thousand miles per year both on and off road year round. In my area I have not found another 78 year old that rides a MT09 Yamaha as their primary motorcycle. A motorcycle to me is like oxygen, couldn’t live without one.
