Swami Pranavamritanandapuri Singing Yamuna Tira Vihari - Pullay Piravi Thara Vendum (Tamil) - as Amma gives Darshan during Amma's World Tour at Toronto, Canada
LYRICS & MEANING:
yamunātīra vihārī vṛndāvana sañcārī
govarddhanoddhārī gopālakṛṣṇa murārī
Krishna, who travels along the course of the Yamuna river and roams through the city of Vrindavan, You upheld the great mountain Govardhana, O cowherd boy, You killed the evil demon, Mura.
ippiṟappu ponāluṃ ĕnakku ĕppiṟappu vāykkumo kaṇṇā
ŏppuyarvillāta oṃkāra kuḻalisaippāyappā. kaṇṇā...
If I miss my chance in this present birth, then when will I ever again have the opportunity to hear the incomparable sound of the “Omkar” that emanates from Your flute when You play upon it.
tappāmal uyiriṇaṅkal̤ĕllāṃ tanai maṟantu irukkuṃ
appotu nān siru pullāki kallāki pullākavo
anṟr kallākavo irukka veṇṭuṃ
azakiya vṛndāvanaṃ tanilŏru pullāy piṟavi tara veṇṭuṃ
In that moment all will forget themselves. I should at least be present, even if I be nothing more than a grass or a stone. O grant that I may be born in the blessed city of Vrindavan as nothing more than a mere patch of grass!
kaṇṇā punitamāna pala koṭi piṟavi tantāluṃ
vṛndāvanamatilŏru pullāy piṟavi taraveṇṭuṃ
You may give hundreds of thousands of births to me but grant that I am born as the grass in Vrindavan.
pullāyinuṃ nĕṭunāl̤ nillātu - ĕnavĕ
kallāy piṟavi tara veṇṭuṃ -
ŏru siṟu kallāy piṟavi tara veṇṭuṃ
But if it be grass, then that birth will surely pass quickly.
Thus, let me be born as a stone!
unad kamala malariṇaikal̤ aṇaya ĕnadul̤l̤aṃ
pul̤akitamuṟṟriṭuṃ bhavamaṟṟriṭuṃ ĕnave ŏru pullāy. kaṇṇā...
When I behold Your divine form, adorned with lotus flowers, my heart is thrilled, and I become fearless. O Krishna, grant that I may take birth as nothing more than the grass or a stone in Vrindavan.
