as a novel reader this hurts so much, i loved shen qiao the most and even after he suffered so much he was like pure white jade. idk i couldn't even like ml i just read it through for shen qiao.even after finishing the novel i firmly believe shen qiao deserves so much better. he deserves the world dammit

Aku pikir shen qiao cukup naif dalam cinta, mirip seperti gadis pada umumnya yang lebih tertarik pada bad boy daripada good boy. Yan wushi kejam di satu sisi hanya karena dia memiliki kepercayaan bahwa tidak ada kebaikan yang murni di dunia ini. Itu kepercayaannya, layaknya prinsip. Bahkan Shen qiao tidak akan bisa mengubahnya dengan mudah. Itulah kenapa kemalangan bisa terjadi pada shen qiao oleh yan wushi. Kurasa kedua karakter saling melengkapi, dan mereka cocok. Aku menyukai keduanya karena aku tidak melihat siapa yang lebih menderita daripada siapa. Shen qiao menderita lebih banyak tentu saja, tapi itu yang kita lihat. Jika kita menjadi shen qiao sendiri, dengan karakternya, apakah kita akan memendam kebencian? Tidak. Jadi, shen qiao memang paling menderita, tapi hatinya yang pemaaf dan tulus menyebabkan hatinya merasa ringan dan tidak terbebani. Shen qiao beruntung karena akhirnya yan wushi sangat menyukainya. Yan wushi memang tidak begitu baik, tapi ketika dia mengakui shen qiao di hatinya, dia memberikan apa yang paling berharga menurut dunia kepada shen qiao, dia bahkan mempertaruhkan nyawanya untuk menghadapi seniman bela diri nomor satu saat itu. Hal yang kusukai dari yan wushi adalah dia tidak bertindak rendahan, dan dia pandai membaca karakter orang, yang membuatnya mampu meluluhkan hati shen qiao kembali.

@@AnaLuiza-df7gdI’m gonna explain this as someone who likes him and respects his character’s purpose, so keep that in mind 😅 So Yan Wushi’s character is just depiction of a realistic person who has seen the troubles with the world and knows how selfish a human can be. That’s why he originally refuses to believe that Shen Qiao was genuinely kind (which he eventually learns to accept when he realizes he can’t change him). Yan Wushi’s character is just as vital as Shen Wiao as they both taught each other so much. The problem with Shen Qiao is that he’s entirely naive and trustful in the beginning, not knowing the ways of the world. Whether we like it or not, we have to be glad Shen Qiao met Yan Wushi rather than anyone else. Yan Wushi taught Shen Qiao the ways of the world through the best and cruelest way possible, by showing him with their own relationship. Showing is better than telling after all. But Shen Qiao grew from that and became stronger because of it, which Yan Wushi admired. Shen Qiao was also wise enough to see the good that Yan Wushi wanted to do for the world, so he knew he wasn’t totally irredeemable and everything he did was meticulous with the best intentions in mind. In the end, they both needed each other. I can see that and why, so I know that both characters are a necessity. I know it may seem cruel, and it is, but Shen Qiao wouldn’t be who he is now without it. I can respect the roles that both characters play for each other and as individuals. The development for both was immaculate and very well written. While it is obviously easier to like Shen Qiao for his good nature, the realistic mindset of Yan Wushi can appeal more to others (to those who see the world as it is instead of what it could/should be). Let me know if that made sense! If it didn’t, then I’ll break down the two sides more and try to explain better. The respect I have for both characters is great and equal, so I can explain it well without being biased. Honestly, I could write a whole essay on this 😂 but I hope that makes sense!

@@idontknowpersonname1502 OMG I agree with everything you wrote. The problem is that I, particularly, CAN'T LIKE YW, you know? I don't hate him, I just dislike him with all my heart. I really can't like him (I've tried, I've tried, but it just doesn't work). I think it's not about his character, like decisions and philosophy, it's the image of YanShen. Together. I think THIS is what bothers my whole entire body. Knowing everything SQ went through and with YW's hands in the middle.......... It's a no no my love. SQ is one of my favorite characters of chinese bl novels world, like THE top 1, literally. Maybe because I kinda of identify with him(?), I don't know, I would like to be like him, I admire him so so much, SO I believe that all my dislike of YW comes from what he did of "giving" SQ to the creepy ass bitch rap*st guy who I forgot the name of. If he hadn't done that, I would have been able to grow fond of him. But this situation, even if this was good for Shen Qiao, THIS PISS ME OFF. My only wish is to shake YW shoulders and scream: "WHY? BITCH WHY? WAKE UP" Maybe I need to learn to forgive like the perfect handsome Shen Qiao🤭 (ok I really need that) And Yes I am using Google Translate, don't judge me if something is wrong.

@@AnaLuiza-df7gd everything you mentioned is something I felt tooo, YW taught him cruelty of the world it's fine I agree. But the creep incident could lead to SQ death, he barely made it out. Even if we justify it by saying how important role it became in character development of the other it was also the point I came to hate YW. I ofc don't expect YW to protect SQ dignity but i feel there was no need for him to throw him in such a pit. I'm pretty sure someone like YW wouldve had other bargaining options but he just didn't wish to. The entire split personality plot to me felt like a way to appease readers into accepting them together later. Them coming together in itself was too strange in one perspective. Ps this is just my personal opinion
