This whole interview is full of wise words. Yana shows humility, is not afraid or ashamed of saying "i failed". This is what a sportswoman looks like

Well. Someone great is gone. Time to just stop and write a message. Dear Yana, I just want to say that it has been a pleasure to have you in my life, that you made it better, with more colors, passion and beauty. You made me dream every time you performed, since you were the 15-years old sensation in Kiev. You made me love rhythmic gymnastics even more, you gave me the faith that even things that seem impossible are possible. You showed to the world what true beauty, strength and otherworldly elegance is. Thank you so much. For all the chills I had watching you, for all the tears I wept seeing you, for all these great emotions you gave to us. Just thank you from the bottom of my heart. You truly are one of the great gymnasts of the history. We won't forget you.

You can still tell she is sad her story had not the ultimate happy end-the gold medal."No one recognizes me on the streets"-Depressing because she is most likely a bigger sportsperson than her boyfriend.13 times world champion-she is a legend and yet reserved about it.The question "if only I did not make this mistake..."is always there somehow.Its the last piece of the image "Queen of Ice".I really hope her relationship makes her happy,I still just dont see her living the "housewife"-life,but time will tell.I dont think she will become a trainer or take part in RG All Stars Galas ..I hope this is not the last thing we will see of her.. All the best Yana,always my favourite gymnast

I am sorry to hear she won't go on competing, she is such a marvelous gymnast. On the other hand, if her injuries give her trouble, it is much better for her to stop now and avoid traumas. I hope she will have a very happy life.

For all those girls who want to be elite gymnasts, engrave these words in their brain: "When you are a gymnast, you live in a sport complex, you are being fed, you dont have a stove or someting, you cant cook, you simply not learn anything for real life. You just learn how to overcome yourself, how to train. I could not even imagine how to cook, now i can do something." For Yana: "You are capable of anything in life, talent and work ethic are within your being, you can shine in whatever you do."

She got a tattoo of Rio 2016. I’m sure she didn’t get it to remind her of her fail. She thought she would win, we all did. I just think after the olympics her heart was broken. She knew she was deserving of that gold but that one drop changed everything. So she didn’t want to compete anymore. Her health may have been a problem but I think her loss played a bigger factor. It’s hard when you work so hard towards something and one thing stops you from achieving it. I understand her pain.

i'm amazed about yana and mamaun friendship, pratically yana said it was a bad idea dividing them, and probably both suffered not having eachppther with yana recovering after an injury and surgery and mamu with a father dying of cancer, sometimes i think they were the first teo real russia gymanst duo friends( well even trio, soldatova lot of tims said she felt more suporoted when she compteted with them), i never see such a friensship between kodakova,dmitrieva and kanaeva, or barkusova,kabaeva and irina(oh well i heard tchchina and alina argued to aech other)

RG DETAILS....sorry I couldn't read some of the subtitles because of the background. Did she say that she and Rita were separated in the lead-up to the games in Rio? That's a strange strategy on behalf of the coaches if she said that. Were Kanaeva and Dmitrieva separated too? I don't think they did coz I remember Zhenya saying how she watched Dasha sleep while she was having insomnia. Really weird.
@rgdetails18077 жыл бұрын
correct, they were separated. they had different schedules, why not...
@trolldevildean45227 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Just wondering what strategies were going through the coaches' minds. How different could their schedules be anyway. Not like one trains in daylight and the other at dark. Maybe they felt the bond between the two might be more detrimental than helpful? While Kanaeva/Dmitrieva bond was more likely to spur each other on. It's interesting. Fan or not, the way the Team Russia is run is certainly interesting.

@@bluescrud8879 Right?? This is really a poor reflection on Deriuginas' leadership. As much as people hate Irina Viner, she taught her gymnasts well and instilled a sense of humility in them. Kabaeva and Kanaeva were champions but they have never blamed other people but themselves for their shortcomings.

I'm not a fan of her new boyfriend. He is a womanizer and right after the 2012 olympics he hooked up with karolina sevastyanova another russian olympic gymnasts. Their relationship did not last long and he has moved on with another woman. But maybe that was last time, and he has changed hopefully for the better. I do wish both of them the best in their relationship.
@dmazrianah7 жыл бұрын
hopefully he has changed. But I am still skeptic about him.
@trolldevildean45227 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, I don't know much about the guy but that doesn't sound good. The said, Sevastyanova herself isn't a "good" girl either. I hope he's changed for Yana. Anyway Yana is still very young, beautiful and very eligible. This is like Kanaeva marrying that drunk hockey player. Hopefully the beauties will change the beasts.

Well yea, because for me, once a player you will still be a player. He is like what 28 this year? 8 years older than kudry and with lots of experience with woman. But as I said, Maybe he has changed for her? hopefully yes, because I can see that kudry is giving alot of commitment into this relationship? And it would break her heart if he is not committed. Praying that he is now a changed guy for the greater good.

This gymnast was technically very good, and a beautiful girl obiovously, maybe the russian team hoped to win the olympic games with the classical " russian beauty queen" but RG is a sport that incorporates many different skills and in at same technical level, if you are not a natural performer you don't shine.She never had a great will/skill to perform, but her adversaries had it...she still got a silver medal at OLYMPICS !!!! Anyway they won't have a 2nd "Kanaeva"...
