So nice to hear you play bari on a Jody Jazz DV NY. I play one myself in opening 9 on bari (Selmer SA80) and I get compliments about the sweet sound all the time :-)

Great sound. I miss my bari times. I just love this big fellow. Today I have one alto sax and two guitars on my living room. So here goes the question That made me to comment: Do you guys clean the dust of this many horns every day?hehe. Here I think that I spend more time cleaning than playing

Just purchased the BW010 and like it. Play on a selmer s-90 and s-80 mp and notice a consistent buzziness in the low register below D. Have you noticed this at all? Love every aspect of this horn EXCEPT for that.

Yanagisawa is taking over Selmer :))))) I just tried 3 altos in a store in Marseilles,Yanagisawa awo10, Yamaha 62 and selmer supreme. Well ,it ended with the Yanagisawa supreme:)))))))

The more expensive 020 series has the best tone and good upper range. Compare with 01 or 010 series, more brighter on the lower registry. I had the AWO1 for a number of years, I have found it too bright for my style of playing. Depending on your style of playing though, you will hear differently to me.

I Tried the W010 and W020, the mechanical is exactly the same. Before trying them I thought : " Just to see but I surely go to buy the less expensive...) After 2 hours of comparaison.... there's a world between the two : the bronze is amazing for the 020, powerful dark bass and a rzally warm in the high pitch. I finally buy the 020 and its amazing to play on ! Yanagisawa is the greatest i tried even selmer is not that quality of sound for me.

He talks about resting the baritone on your right leg as if it’s something strange that some people in informal settings do. What’s up with that? How does he think bari players hold their instruments?

So how does the sound of the bronze compare to that of the brass models?
@user-iq3xy2ou1m5 жыл бұрын
Steven Stanton I believe the bronze is a bit of a darker sweeter sound than the brass

I guess it shouldn't be surprising that being a bassist, I'm also interested in baritone sax's and a set of Uillean pipes. I do not look forward to sounding like a wounded goose while I learn though.

Can anyone tell me what would be the best choice between a Yanagisawa BW01 and the new Yamaha B62 (the brand new version) ? And why ?
@devildu123 жыл бұрын
For me the Yamaha is more mettalic than yhe Yana but you need to test them both because it's different from one person to another the felling you can have...

Does anyone know what the most lightweight baritone saxophone may be that is still able to make a decent sound on?
@christianledezma75316 жыл бұрын
Hunter Alexander most baritone saxes are typically on the heavier side but some horns are more well balanced than others. I play on a Cannonball and it’s perfect for me. Not super heavy, well balanced, easy to repair, and sounds phenomenal
@jamielundy82206 жыл бұрын
Yamaha horns are usually on the lighter side.

Personally, Yanagisawa is the lightest i've played out of selmer, cannonball, yamaha, P mauriat, and WWBW.
