What if the Saikou family wasn’t rich? what if Mr Saikou lost all his money and wealth carelessly? What if Megami was no longer popular in school.

Same besides there may be canon evidence a person in the game did that(ship them) if you talk to Yakuza after togos task and after you get your chosen object Yakuza will bring togo up but we don't know what he was about to say BUT any platonic thing you put in the blank can be turned romantic with s bit more context and s little alteration of words just a thought
