Thing is, is that it was already foreshadowed she would lose her arm in the RWBY Yellow promo video where Yang goes looking for her mother Raven and the quote in it foreshadows her losing her arm thanks to Adam.

You insult Monty Oum twice over with that statement, considering he had two tweets saying that Taiyang is the father. Besides, Qrow has shown no parenting skills whatsoever, only teaching skills as a warrior...hardly father material. And considering that Summer loved Taiyang not Qrow, Qrow is probably seeking the affection from Ruby that Summer never gave him.

Taiyang is the father, but Ruby and Yang are step-sisters. Ruby was born to both Taiyang Long and Summer Rose whereas Yang was born to both Taiyang Long and Raven Branwen which is why Ruby takes after her deceased mother and Yang takes after Taiyang in looks.

Honestly, I still think Ironwood owes Yang big time for what happened before and after the invasion. He still hasn't apologized for wrongfully accusing Yang, so as wrong as I may be, the bionic arm seems like down payment to me and Ironwood owes her a blank check. Then again, you have the next four volumes, which are all a total shitshow in my opinion, so I guess Ironwood's forgotten what he sorta did to Yang back at the Vytal tournament.
