I absolutely adore the look of the original jars. I haven’t bought from Yankee in many years due to issues with tunneling and absolutely no throw when burning. I’m finally just now going to try the signature line. My prayer for Yankee is they go back to their original formula and wicks. THAT would put them back in the lead. I’m not too keen on the soy blend, so even if I experience a good throw I can’t see myself buying often if they burn too fast for my liking. All they have to do is go back to Yankee’s 90’s glory days and they would take over the market again. Thankfully I found Kringle Candle. Their soy blend candles last a decently long time and their jars are just gorgeous!! Can’t wait to see your Halloween candle reviews this year! ☠️

Ooh my gosh yes I completely 100% agree with you. I have had the exact same thoughts, if Yankee just went back to the same style that they were doing in the 90s it would be incredible they would explode. It's just really hard I think to get that point across to them. I really have a nostalgic place for the classic jars. I remember when they were house fillers and the scent was always noticeable in my home. However, the new signature jars for me now perform better. They pool out faster and I think they burn great, and the throw is better for the most part. I want to keep buying the traditional jars, but just am not getting good performance from them and they take forever to pool out! So, I actually buy the two wick soy jars now. 😃🥰

I think the classic jars can be a real hit or miss these days- I agree the old house warmers were the most amazing performers. Last year my friends got a witches brew that didn't throw AT ALL..... so disappointing... thanks for your input!

I know this was made a while ago but as of fall 2023 I really think the Yankee Jars have upped the strength. I'm burning Apple Pumpkin and 2 years ago I couldn't smell it in my living room but this year my living room is smelling great!😊

Hi! yes I actually agree with you- I'm warming up to the two pillar wrap around jars. I do like that they're a soy wax blend and I think, like you said, they are hitting their stride and getting better. Thank you for watching and commenting!

COMPLETELY agree about the classic large jars. They are the best form of candle in my opinion, and I will only buy that style of candle !

Hey great video! Love my original jars!! here in the uk we don’t have the signature jar but we do have the soy wax in the elevation jar and I have a few of them and enjoy them but I love my original jar it has my heart ❤️ I’m also like you I love my illuma lids ❤️ fresh cut roses I use every Valentine’s Day!

This video was SO HELPFUL and you should be on TV as a reporter. I have been super disappointed with the original jars that USED to be really strong and burn well, especially with an illumalid. I appreciated that it is 22 oz as well. I gave up on Yankee altogether because so many of my favorites were not throwing. I am just now going to try out the new signature series. I don't like the look at all. I miss the old jars and I don't understand why they can't just fix the true original jars!! And make them stronger throwing, because many smell great in the jar and then there's no scent burning, which makes zero sense since paraffin can hold more fragrance. I don't personally like the new labels either. It makes me sad. But if the new one actually throws, I will go with it. I don't like florals and that seems to be the only one that throws in both.

I'm quite sensitive to smells and Yankee "soft cotton" is really the only sented candle I thoroughly enjoy. I was tempted to buy the signature version. But since the amount of sent in the regular version is enough for me, so I'll stick to my all time favourite. Thanks for this video, it saved me quite a lot of money😊

I just wrote one comment but then I had not finished watching your video so I know it was a year ago and I do have a topper that I bought at Yankee candle years ago, but where did you get the topper that you have on your candle now, did it come from Yankee candle?

I am definitely old-school. I actually found you today, December 2023 trying to find information on the jars and here I am. I have not ordered candles for several years. I was diffusing my essential oil I decided this year I wanted the scent of candles,the Christmas smell in my home, I have been burning Shimmering Christmas tree going on two weeks and when I say burn, I mean like all day. I placed another order and I got the new shaped jars. Absolutely do not like them with the two wicks. The wax melts so fast and you feel like within an hour you need to put it out, I can tell no difference in the throw myself. I have one that I’m saving for later in the summer and now I’m upset because I did not get it in the traditional jar. I am going to contact Yankee candle and give them my feelings on these jars. I absolutely will not buy another one. Thanks for the information.

Two wicks, fast-melting wax... sounds like these candles are living life in the fast lane! Thanks for your input on your preferences. I've come around to the 2 wicks after realizing just how much soot the parafin was leaving on my walls. However I will eternally love the iconic shape of the og jars. I wish they would just pour soy wax into the OG jars. I'm down with the old-school candle lovers! I mostly just collect at this point

You are not alone when it comes to preferring the old school wide labels over the new "keyhole" ones. It is odd how some still have wide labels, but a very small %. Not sure why.

@@HauntedHaven 😲🤣😱😆🥴 I know right! It is starting to get really weird now. You can currently go online and actually see TWO completely different labeled Jelly Beans with bottom dates from 2021. One is keyhole and the other is the classic old school one. This isn't the 1st time I've seen both types of labels being used. I'm convinced these things are being made in completely different factories / manufacturing facilities. All in all though, the vast majority of wide label YC's vanished around 2017 from what I've observed.

@@slhines7 yea exactly, yeah I think that they made the keyhole switch in 2016 and you're probably right probably took a little while for the entire change to take effect

@@HauntedHaven Yet some like Sea Harbor, Pink Carnations, WIllow Breeze, Enchanted Garden, Meyer Lemon, Jasmine Green Tea, Spring Days, Cherry Blossoms still have the older school/type of wide labels w/ fonts on the site at the current moment, but others have wide labels with newer smaller fonts, and the rest are keyhole types. Maybe they're making a gradual transition back to the traditional wide labels. Might as well bring back the same quality/formulas while they're at it. 😀😆😲

I find it interesting how Kringle's new 2-wick pillar jars are now 100% soy white wax. Haven't tried yet but plan on checking em' out the next time they are on sale.

I've got a couple of them! They throw really well- they do burn a lot faster than a trad. yankee paraffin, however that isn't the worst thing if you've got a big candle collection and you don't want them sitting around for a long time. I think Kringle is pretty solid

Are you going to be getting the Well-Living Collection? Yankee has released 20 different scents and I have four already: Hinoki & Juniper, Sandalwood & Rose, Vanilla & Honey, and Lotus Blossom & Aloe. Bed, Bath, and Beyond has half of the collection. I'm burning Woodwick's Hot Toddy and Yankee's Lavender Beach now and enjoy the scents. I want all the outlet candles.

Hi! No I'm not. I did make a video of going into the store to smell them but they really didn't do anything for me. Most of them had a very faint scent and I didn't like the design. OOOOO lavender beach sounds like my kind of scent to bring on spring!

I can't listen right now, my husband is watching something on tv!! Did you address scent-throw? does the soy-blend throw as well? I realize it still has some paraffin in it, but I just don't feel good breathing a petroleum product routinely (or as much as I like to burn candles :))) Willing to risk my lungs if the scent throw is dramatically different!

Oh no! So it's been a little while since I made the video but the synopsis is for rose the throws are similar (very strong) between the two candles Paraffin is maybe a little stronger. But this is also a notably strong scent to begin with

I havent burned a one-wick Yankee in a while but I have such a HUGE background and find memories of the original jar. Do you trim 1/4" between each burn or leave it a little higher? Last time I trimmed to 1/4" it toom 6 hours+ to pool 😊

@@aliciahamric4920 Hi thanks for hanging out here! I normally just take the mushroom tops off of them, but I don't trim them to 1/4 inch. I've also noticed that they take a really long time to pool when I do that. I have a video about trimming wicks recorded you just reminded me I should edit it hahah!

Thank you so much for the review! I really appreciate it. I enjoyed the video and I liked the subtle way you reference a Lana Del Rey song lol. I agree with all your points!! I was buying both the traditional large jar paraffin wax and 2 wick soy candle. I was trying to compare myself but it was so hard for me to tell the differences in between them. I also have fresh cut roses in paraffin and soy wax and I will say this you are correct they are completely different scents! I like the paraffin wax version better as well! I also agree that the jars for the paraffin wax candles are so much prettier plus the illuma lids are just beautiful. I thought at first I would like the two wick candles better because I am so used to bath and body three wicks but the more I was comparing myself the more I realized I like the paraffin wax ones better. The only positive really I can see for the soy wax is it pools a lot quicker. Also in some of the weaker scents like cozy cashmere (which is a scent I love, it’s so relaxing) the two wick soy candle really does help me smell it a lot stronger. I burned the paraffin wax of cozy cashmere and I couldn’t really smell it in my opinion but the two wick soy I can smell! I feel like I was thinking I would like the two wicks soy candles better but for some reason (and I couldn’t figure out why) I just didn’t like them better. But yes the scents are completely different sometimes in my opinion and that is so strange to me! I’m so glad you made this video I found it super helpful! I like watching your videos please keep them coming!! I just really trust your opinion could you do a video (when you have time) on your favourite yankee candles/ what scents have the strongest throw and which ones have the weakest throw? I really am a huge fan of your videos!

The new signature Yankee Candle tumbler jars appear to be about shrinkflation to me (less wax / burn time) since all of the current tumblers are soy/paraffin blends. It wouldn't surprise me if the 22 oz tumblers and other similar types of older jars get phased out.

ughhhh that would be a nightmare, but I suspected as much with the new signatures as well. As soon as they released it with less wax and less of a burn time it sounded like they were in trouble and needed a quick fix

@@HauntedHaven Yeah, I guess many companies are scrambling to find ways to deal with the ongoing inflation. Time will ultimately tell. The whole shrinking thing is pretty annoying since it is a deceptive practice, but it gives the illusion that prices aren't going up as much as they actually are.

@@HauntedHaven Oh yeah, I have no clue what it up with those low burn hour 5 wick candles. They are only about 1.5 - 2" tall from what I recall. I'd be surprised if those stick around long. Could have just been 4 wicks either way.
