What a beautiful turn-of-the-century treasure! Great improvisation of a popular tune to this day. Thank you for sharing your remarkable collection.

One of the other record's (and one of my favorite) you posted years ago "The Mick Who Threw The Brick" by Dan W Quinn, #A17 was originally released on this label, I saw a picture of it a while back when researching more about Johnson's early days. The courts told Johnson in early 1901 that he had to stop using the name, and that's when he changed it, so any "Victor" that was recorded in 1900 was originally on this label.

What source do you use for finding how many copies were produced?

DAHR Discography of American Historical Records has that information. It also shows a date of 1/27/01 but if it were, it couldn't have appeared with an Improved Gramophone label. That label was superceded and replaced during late 1900. So ca. 7/1900 must be correct.

@bbailey7818 is there a specific page on the website I need to visit, or is this information that will come up on a "basic search"?
