I think the glitches the last year or so have been a foreshadowing of what's coming - loss of access altogether, digits flip-flopping in and out. Dollar cost average your personal bank runs, just like your metals. Years ago, a friend had his bank accounts frozen due to identity theft shenanigans. Thankfully, he hadn't left everything in there, and had enough set by to get legal help and live the next 6-8 months while he had to pay to fight the results of someone else's actions. Go slow, but get it all out except what you need to cover certain bills and surprises. I will never forget his distress and what he went through that he was even willing to discuss. Bail-ins will happen at some point, better that they get pennies at most from you.

Changed the whole way I bank, and avoid autopay. That's how we got unions everywhere and people aren't as mad about the tax bills -- it comes out automatically instead of having to do something every month. I'm not against unions, they serve a purpose initially, but turn into a mess and are more problematic than helpful.

If only there was a way to bottle the wisdom of Tim and people like him. He reminds me of my dad before alzheimers. I didn't understand how important the electoral college is. I was pretty dumb, and bought in to the idea that popular vote was all that was needed. Now that I'm a senior citizen, I'm trying to impart a little knowledge to the youngsters in my family, and a couple young men who work at my Dollar General. They're cousins, probably 18, or 19 years old. They've graduated high school, but they don't know anything about America. I go to the store every Friday night. One night they were talking about foreign coins they'd inherited from their grandpa, (they're cousins) I asked if they had any American coins, they didn't know. So I told them to look at the coins and I'd be happy to tell them about any American coins they might have. They began bringing coins for me to look at. I can tell you that once you have their attention and interest, young people are thirsting for knowledge and soak it up like a sponge. Now every Friday I bring a coin from my type set and tell them about it, and some of the history associated with the coins. This past Friday I was looking at my change, and one of the boys asked me why I always did that, so I explained I was looking for silver. Neither of them were aware we had silver coins as recently as we did. It's very refreshing to have youngsters wanting information. They'll be checking the change drawer from now on, and that's good, I'd be happy to see them find some silver. A couple weeks ago I didn't go to the store, and the next time I was in they grabbed me and said they were so glad to see me, they were afraid something had happened to me. 😊

I was very lucky to have my dad, grandpa, and two uncles who were coin collectors. They all taught me about US coins, and I got to tag along to coin shops and shows. I still have my 1972 photograde dad bought me. Still refer to it. We have a great hobby and if we don't pass it on, it'll disappear.

I bought two 100 ounce JM bars on eBay about six weeks ago right at spot. Never got them. Guy built up good feedback over the last three years and then posted a half million worth of precious metals over Easter weekend and no one ever received any of it. He even shipped out empty boxes to bogus addresses so they would keep bouncing all over local post offices and never arrive. He took the money and ran. Huge scam. eBay made me whole though.

A lot more people need to grow their own food. Lots of gardening videos here on YT, so there isn't much reason not to get into it ASAP. When I first started gardening, I did it in buckets and tubs on my deck. It's amazing just how much food one can grow in even a small space, especially if one gets into vertical gardening.

You get a 100% money back policy from eBay when the sale is over $500.00 For what it's worth: Before paying, I had a lengthy communication with the seller who sold me the gold bar. I think he got taken when he bought these Perth bars, but had no clue how to get it tested. He was selling because he lost everything in a fire. I feel bad for him, and believe he really did not know, because he refunded very fast (immediately after learning it was fake), even before I shipped it back at his expense. He was apologetic, and I think he simply didn't know.

Only five one oz bars I bought a while ago. Something about them I don’t like. Should just drill a hole in one to see if’s it’s real.

My theory is, the United States Dollar will continue to be used, but merchants and regular people will prefer copper, silver, and gold in whatever form measured in grams, oz, etc. Things may become cheaper with metals and more expensive with US Dollar and Credit Cards. This buyer is telling the truth and is spot on. The one thing I will say that is esp good in regards to EBAY is that they are 100% customer friendly. It's almost impossible to get ripped off and your money is often immed refunded. (They take it right out of the sellers account)

In the video, that bar looked pretty good in the assay case. This is a great justification for having a Precious Metals Verifier (I have the Pro and picked it up at SD Bullion). Like Ronnie Reagan used to say "trust but verify"....

You don't understand how much I respect Tim, he has been a wealth of knowledge and I would never try to cheat him. He is such a good guy. Paid 40 bucks below spot for the gold, and prefer to stack silver. I knew Tim would test it, and if it was fake, I also knew that eBay would make good. 100% money back policy on purchases over $500.00 Not the first time I got fake stuff, and they made good then, too. Still, I have a lot of silver that all tested good, and all bought under spot, all on eBay.

I think that's a little harsh. Unless you can read minds, how do you know that he knew the bar was fake? It's a lot more likely that he *suspected* it might be fake but did not *know* that for a fact. Once it was tested, however, the truth became *known*.

The fake gold bar story is the main reason why I want to build a trust relationship with my LCS. I want to buy from someone I can trust, not someone I have never met and their price wil save me money. Maybe I will buy a fake someday from my LCS by accident, but if I have a built up relationship with them, they will most likely make it right. Just my opinion. I have never bought anything on Ebay and never will, and that goes for Facebook and Craiglist too.

They just past a bill that says the usgvt has control over 98% of America. That means your house whether paid or not and your land. My Sigma saved me from buying two fake 10g gold bars in private sale (one Pamp, one Perth). Paid for itself that day. Also, because I have a Sigma, I have had the confidence to save a bucket of money on premiums by focusing on private sale the last few years. Finally, when gold and silver become a household thing (bubble phase in 2 to 4 years - think 2011), and you are selling to your neighbour, I believe my Sigma will make me even more money as these late comers to the PM party will trust what I am selling. Never forget how nervous you were the first time you purchased PMs. Draw on that experience to get the best price when you sell down the road.
