Yanmar VIO35 VS Kubota U35

The Yanmar has a superior boom and Dipper. There is one massive pin connecting boom to house on yanmar, whereas kubota has 2 smaller pins, also yanmar has a STANDARD hydraulic pin grabber AND their buckets all will go on backwards for enhanced digging options when digging against house foundations at depth or when wanting to dig back under a slab or building. The Yanmar operator can change buckets and flip them backwards with the touch of a button. And also as you mentioned, shin guards on all cylinders. Not only superior boom features, but they are all standard. My personal preference also, but i enjoy having all my fluids and check points on one side on my Vio35-6A . I also enjoy having a lighter and more compact machine for working in tight situations in back yards where I also enjoy no trouble digging 10-11 ft deep sewers. Hate to say it, but i wouldn't have a kubota. And really, there's a reason, or reasons, why a guy like "Letsdig18" went with a new yanmar when he got a smaller machine recently. When i got my yanmar it was less expensive than the kubota and has all winning features, so what a win.

Yammer makes motors for everything from boats to tractors. Not sure I would discount them so quickley.

I love my Kubota’s I buy a lot from Messicks for my rentals. But the Yanmar will blow the doors off the kubota performance wise. And yanmar has better bucket coupler .

The yanmar has a hydraulic quick coupler, the kubota does not, interesting way to gloss over the inferiority of the kubota to the yanmar.

I see some excavators that give you the option of which engine you want. Kubota or Yanmar. The Yanmar, same size engine, is considered an upgrade and costs like $2,000 more dollars. Said dealers prefer the Yanmar and they have no reason to sell you one or the other. So not sure if Kubota engines are better than Yanmar engines. Both are fine for sure though. I will say, Kubotas seat will be much more comfortable because it’s a full travel suspension. It looks like the same type on my tractor whereas Yanmar’s is the low profile kind. I just sat on those type today while checking out bobcats and they were not very comfortable. I could barely notice any give. For that reason and the Kubota’s easy access to the hydraulic stack, I’d go with Kubota on this one.

Both machines are a good choice. Really would come down to dealer probably. I’ve been looking at both and the one problem right now is yanmar has extremely limited availability right now. However yanmar does offer a four year four thousand hour warranty standard while kubota is the standard 2 year 2000 hour and you can only buy an additional year.

I’ve never operated a yanmar excavator, but I have ran a kubota. I will say the yanmar engines in John Deere compact tractors are absolutely fantastic. You can’t kill em. This guy is a kubota salesman, so obviously he’s pro kubota (he admitted it in the vid). That being said the Kubota engines are very good as well, and lots of other brands use Kubota engines. IMO Japan and South Korea have the small diesel engine market pretty much dominated. When you get into larger hp ranges, then Caterpillar and Cummins are the go tos.

Bucket breakout is going to be affected by the coupler also. If you compare a hydraulic coupler on the kubota with the standard hyd. coupler on the yanmar I'd be interested to see how much the kubota bucket breakout is reduced. Probably close to the same at that point.

The machines them selves are very close. The dealer net work is where Kubota has the advantage. Plus it also depends on how good your local dealers are.

Yanmar has 3 pump hydraulic system. Kubota has 1 pump cuts out when multi functioning

LOL, Kubota number 1 engine, NOT. It is only because their marketing is better and they built name for decades so they sell more. More doesn't mean better. Yanmar has used better, more expensive to build DIRECT INJECTION engines vrs Kubota's cheap out use of INDIRECT injection. All of my Yanmars will turn on like a light switch even below freezing. No glow plug cycle needed. My Kubota needs glow plugs at 70 or it won't start. I know Kubota will run and last as long as Yanmar but I practice a meritocracy and they are not getting my business for poor choice of engine design. I like to turn the key and have the engine instantly start. Easier on battery and starter and no worries about glow plugs going bad so if you live in REALLY cold areas, less need of use means they should last longer so they work when needed. Salesmen need to know their machine and the competition inside and out and what's printed on the sales sheets is just the beginning of knowing it. My Amish neighbors rip engines out of old equipment and power all sorts of farm equipment with them. They won't have a Kubota. They love Yanmars and so do I.

your not taking into account the yanmar bucket breakout is including a hydraulic hitch, the kubota doesnt have a factory hitch so you dont have extra weight or length.

Yes, the yanmar is better , but Kabota mechanic and dealership is right in front of your eyes that has to be taken into consideration also

Tracks are a lot better on the Kubota but overall yanmar is way better smoother the hoe is ten times better and can rip through some frost alot better clearly it has problems cuz frost is no joke but it's the better machine period

I get tired of sales people that push their product brand knowing if they worked for the competition, it would be different. He admits first off that he doesn't know anything but what the specs imply, and he doesn't even know what the advantages of not having a single hydraulic pump. I'm not sure how he convinces someone to get a larger Kubota excavator when it has more pumps but less flow per pump. IHe should be embarrassed to be so ignorant about the produces he sells.

Yanmar invented the diesel engine in the late 1800’s and they were the first to do it. Look around, they’re everywhere. It will blows the doors off of a kubota. Stop with your nonsense video.
