I saw this when it first came out on PBS in the 90's. This was my favorite song, too. I saw him once in concert in the 90's and it was wonderful! It's so refreshing to see a young person single out and appreciate this song!! I couldn't agree more with your whole review...

He's not fond of being in the basket with "new age", as you will find when you study him. He is a very deep writer and is humble, willing and happy. He has a degree in psychology from the University of Minnesota, does not read music, but hires interpreters to lead his well educated professional artists. His more recent concerts are in Puerto Rico, Mexico, South America, etc. Suggestion: Listen to his performance of "Until the Last Moment" with Samvel Yervinyan here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4vLhH17bbJkq5I I live close to him and have been to every concert he's done here ... he calls us his "guinea pig concerts". You have the wrong impression of him, please go and do study. He's been here since at least 1988 and there is so much to learn. Felitsa is a shortened version of his mother's name. She has passed away and so has his father. He is still VERY ACTIVE. Difference is, he is worldwide and most others are not.

Love your comments, but note .... Yanni doesn't appreciate being considered "new age". He is from Greece and I know a whole bunch about him (have studied since 1989). Having been raised in Greece, there is religion there. I don't know exactly what that is, but take a look at the titles of his music. You'll see what is in his heart.
