Hi, I have 85 db / 6 ohm Harbeth speakers. I want a new integrated amplifier. How much power do I need at least?

hi, how many watts do you need for speakers with a sensitivity of 85db/6ohm/watt? look at the factory specifications! There are guidelines that I think need to be taken into account apart from speaker sensitivity, namely: listening distance (how many db are expected), the size of the listening room (amplification) and power handling limitations? The 100db guideline is the hearing limit that can still be enjoyed. with an impedance of 6ohms like this it is more intended for solid stage amps (high current) because tube amps are more efficient with a large impedance of 8-16ohms. Calculating how many watts an amplifier needs in general can be done by: every 3db increase will require 2x the previous watts, for example: 85db/watt - 88db/2watt, 91db/4watt, ...... 100db/32watt. This is a guideline for a hearing distance of 1 meter. Insufficient power can cause speaker damage due to clipping, as well as if you push it with power that exceeds the specifications! see factory specifications!!
