We visit cemetery , we pray for the people who passed and those to come, and the rosary prayer. This was brought in by the Irish priest before war world one. Fantastic video of the Christian Cemeteries on the island of YAP in Micronesia. The cemeteries are very colorful indeed with the floral arrangements surrounding the various graves. At some of the gravesites only colourful markers indicate the graves, and some of the graves appear to be overcome with extensive brush. Since I did not see any graves to have any identifying markings, I was just wondering exactly how do the survivors of the deceased after several years and or generations have passed, know exactly who is buried at these gravesites. I am assuming that the floral arrangements are perpetual, so that the floral arrangements remain the same year after year. But, after one or two generations of people have gone by, how do the surviving ancestors know exactly who is buried in those plots. I am assuming those grave sites that are only marked by coloured crosses, will be known just by the colour of the crosses on the graves, which I assume will never change. But for those whose graves are marked by colourful floral arrangements only, How can those graves be identified in the even that a hurricane or tornado occurs over the cemeteries?

+Michael Friedman Good question Michael, I am not really sure how they mark each grave (or, if they do so at all).. this is one of my earliest videos of my trip and I was very impressed by the beautifully decorated huge crosses... Since then, I have not seen anything similar anywhere else in the Pacific..
