This was like the old days, excited over finding flukes. I love it!! I wish our river water was clear enough to dive. I know there’s wrecked ships, railroad cars, huge catfish, alligator gar (yum!) and alligators. However, no one has ever been attacked by an alligator here. No telling what all is down there. The ships used to take refuge here during hurricanes.

My Uncle was an Under Water Welder. While working on a bridge in the Mississippi River he said he was bumped hard in the back when turned around the light on his welding helmet showed a Catfish? That was about 12-15 foot long and about 5 feet wide in the middle. He said he got really shook from the experience.

Those catfish were huge! It would be awesome to see you guys come up to some of the rivers in Ohio or Michigan. Especially the Ohio rivers. The Greenville river is a mess. There are ancient fridges, tools, toys, mattresses, etc that can be seen. It would be interesting what would be found in the Greenville creek especially since many of my friends have lost items when kayaking or tubing it.

I think some people use the Hooch as a driving range. I have found them upstream when, as Jake would say, the river has been drained and I can get out and fish near the whitewater put-in.
