Where I live they call them tent cities. My nephew was walking with his 3 young kids on a nature walk on a trail made by our town. There is garbage and syringes all along the trail. It goes around a small pond and waterfall. He had to try and explain this to his children. Not easy when we adults have a hard time wrapping our heads around it. You did the right thing leaving and not finishing the video. It is important to take care of our emotional beings. You owe us nothing. Definitely not an apology. Love your videos.

homeless encampments are called that too in the west coast of canada B.C and drugs like crystal meth and fentanyl which a lot of them are addicted to just make them get so incredibly high they eventually become irrational and violent and refuse any form of treatment that will get them off the streets.....

We have a group like that here and people take them things like sleeping bags, old shoes, canned goods, kitchen utensils for cooking, clothes, tarps, and various things like that. Homelessness is very real. You were compassionate and respectful for not going or showing their space. As for the trash, does the city ever organize a "Clean the River Day? If not, maybe that is something that you guys can try to do. Talk to the City Council or Board of Supervisors, whatever group there is and see what you can do. Govt. Officials need to provide more for them. Housing is going up at an alarming rate. I pray they will get the help they need.

True, there are some who are down and having a rough time, but there are also the ones who don't care or have any respect for anything. I see it every day when I'm walking with my dogs or my 5 yr old granddaughter. I pick up endless bags of garbage and it never ends. We walked by a couple yesterday that were sitting and eating. They finished and just left all their garbage all over the sidewalk and just walked away. There were garbage cans close by too. It's really frustrating that people just don't seem to care about anything anymore.

As a diabetic and had to do needle disposal the best way is to take a plastic bottle with a cap on your ventures. Put them in needle first and recap the bottle, once you are ready to dispose, wrap the top of the bottle with some duct tape and use a sharpy marker to write SHARPS on the sides of the bottle. Toss it in a dumpster and it will get where it's going.

Use it as a meet and greet and clean up. By drawing attention to the situation of those people it is possible that someone can do more for them than you have thought of.
