Yaa mu'almii, or you my dear teacher, Allahu says in the Qur'aani:" laa yukallifu Allahu nafsan illaa wus'ahaa. Lahaa maa kassabat wa alaihaa maa aktasabat - Allahu don't connect a soul except with a load that it can carry ". Although this verse is linked to the fact that Allahu has given human beings and devils the faculty, the conscience of the mind to be able to distinguish between good and bad so that we can follow the creator by doing good things and avoiding evil things, this verse also tells us that whatever Allahu has chosen an individual for is divinely facilitated and made inevitable. Shall Allahu choose all of us for the goodness of the world aamiin. Whatever The Creator wants is what's is referred to as being good, and his condemnations are what are reffed to as bad. I draw this interpretation of the verse as it asserts on one being made accountable for one's actions of conscience by Allahu.

Slight correction, at 11:30, you mentioned the fourth crusade that attacked Constantinople. Just wanted to offer this clarification before it ends up in the book lol. Constantinople at this point was not a Muslim ruled city, but was still part of the Byzantine Empire. But I think that actually makes your point even more strongly. The Crusades got so out of hand got so convoluted, got so out of control, even for the people who wanted them in the first place,, that the Crusaders wound up attacking Christian cities in the path Crusade. John Green’s crash course video on the Crusades gives a little animated explanation of the fourth crusade, and it’s pretty wild. Honestly, after their defeat by Saladin, I think they just lost hope in ever getting Jerusalem back. Other Crusades after that, try to target places like Egypt and Tunisia, connected again with the reasons you gave, and they were strategic targets, but because it wasn’t actually Jerusalem, they had a hard time getting people hyped about it.
