Sheikh Omar Baraka Allahu fikhum for this wonderful and timely reminder on racism. It's unfortunate that despite of Islam's well known position against racism and discrimination, black people are still discriminated against by fellow Muslims. As a black man and a countless number of black people in western countries encounter racism in our Muslim communities. You should know that this sickness of racism won't leave our Muslim communities unless we have the will to confront it genuinely (without hypocrisy)and openly. Please fellow Muslims, let's stand against discrimination and racism in our communities. May Allah make it easier for all of us, ameen

I believe the only way to fight against racism is to do it the way our Prophet Muhammad pbuh did it. By encouraging brothers and sisters from different tribes and different countries like the sahabas to marry each other. Muhammad sallalahou aleyhi wa Salam himself had wife’s of all origins and all shades of colors from the darkest to the lightest.

Well said brother. Let’s all start with ourselves, each and everyone of us and that’s how you change from within. The fruits of Islam are hanging low to be harvested by conscious Allah fearing both Muslims and Muslimas. Put a side our racial differences and practice what Islam teaches us. What’s happening in and around us is a test and it is up to all of us to see how we handle it. May Allah make it easy for us.

It is so Potent There's no superiority of an Arab over an Non- Arab and no superiority of a white man over a black man except by their deen, their piety, and their Religion. May Allah make us amongst those whom are included in the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. Ameen May Allah help us to examine our nafs Ameen And May Allah Grant us of his Pleasure Ameen

Masha Allah, Shaikh Omar is the only one I have seen to deal with this issue intelligently. How are we supposed to get rid of racism/resentment when the only thing we associat blackness in Islam is Bilal+slavery, and how ugly&low so and so was, due to being black. I didn't like Bilal(SubhanaAllah) though I am a black man. because I knew anytime someone mentioned his name they would make it look as if being black is the worst thing in the world. May Allah bless you Shaikh for opening our eyes to the truth of Islam.

السلام عليكم It is even deeper than most people think. Credit to the speaker for pointing this out. Consider these things : السلام عليكم #1 Bilal ( Radi Allahu An) had an Arab father and an Mother from Habash (i.e Ethiopia) by the Arab patrilineal system he was an Arab therefore any criticism was against her mother's lineage, not primarily nor necessarily about color . Keep in mind the Abyssinians (Habash , Ethiopia) was a powerful enemy of the Arabs in the past. Ironically some physical description of Abu Dhar may Allah be pleased with him , describe him as "tanned" or "brown" #2 The Arabs had whole groups among them that were dark skinned , not just Bilal. #3 Many of the major sahaba have physical descriptions similar to Bilal's 4) many strong opinions in ahadith , seerah describe Musa alayhi Salam, Isa ibn Maryam alayhi salaam, and Adam alayhi Salam as being brown, black , deep tanned skinned. Check don't believe me. Also note the Arabs (back then) used different terms to describe color, red was used to describe Romans and Persians (whom the Arabs considered different in physical description from them); Adam , Adamu , and similar terms mean dark skin tones, green also was used to describe dark tones , white was used to mean unblemished, pure , without marks not as we use it today. Check ahadith and seerah books, beware of strange , deceptive translations. Suyooti and Ibn Al Jawzi may have mercy on them both wrote about virtues of blacks , as the speaker said but think why did they feel the need to write ✍🏾 these text in the thirteenth century; after years of thousands of diverse skinned Arabs and Africans!? Just ponder 🤔 it. Now a giant take away is , is why don't the hundreds of knowledgeable scholars speak of this or translate it . Only Bilal , and used modern (500 year old or less) terms to describe skin colors. We don't judge by skin color rather by Taqwa however truth must be spoken. What is incorrect must be corrected. May Allah reward you.
