Great Josh! Well, the razor is a mixed bag for me, which is unusual for a Yaqi razor. I have a couple of razors with that style of lather channels and I don't really use them. It does give it a sleek look, but unless you shave everyday, you'll get a build up even with a wet lather. I also would have thought that they would have updated the cap so you could only put it on one way to assemble it. It looks really nice, but I think that it needs some work. Have a great one buddy!

Don't you worry - I have been working alongside Yaqi on getting a few updates done to the public release version. I felt the same, it's the first one of the stainless steel series that I felt needed some tweaks. This is why we quality test things and double check design features. From my understanding, the razor will ship starting at the + marker, and will feature a cap indicator of some sort. Not entirely sure how it'll look - but I think we caught this in the development phases 👍👌 Thanks for watching my friend!

That is a beauty. is it available yet. I looked for it recently and could not find it. The Solar Lime sounds like a good one for sure. Great video as always.

Totally on their site but it's not linked well!! Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! Looks like they made a small amount of like 20? $165.40 | Yaqi Avanti Stainless Steel Adjustable Safety Razor a.aliexpress.com/_mOcm5A4

Nice shave and review. Would be cool if Yaqi followed the Progress with handle grip but still do the fluted design for ultimate grip. Alien soap looks great and love lime scents. My last 2 shaves with the original High Proof have been awesome since i have better hydrated lather. Have a great week buddy

Thanks so much Mike!! Can't go wrong with a hydrated lather!! Really appreciate you stopping by to share the shave!

I wish Merkur or Parker would do their versions in all Stainless🤷🏼♂️

Hey if hasn't changed much since the 50s so I wouldn't expect it to happen any time soon 😜

Is the grip a reversed fluting style with concave indentations on a cylindrical body vs the original style Roman pillar grip on Merkur Progress? Is the grip better on this model than on progress?

I know this hasn’t been released but does Yaqi have any timeframe for the release? 1-3 months? 6-12?
@SubieShaves2 ай бұрын
@@seansylvia3188 I was told within the next few days! I was surprised that they could implement changes so quickly - but it sounds like they were able to make some adjustments on the fly. There may be a delay but I would expect this to release fairly quickly.

Is it going to be as blade forward as the SS Final Cut? Would have expected more from this one given all the hype. Also had a rush of brown water / staining after the first few rinses. POS is gathering dust in my den and dealing with Yaqi customer service is a joke. I’m done with Yaqi razors. Will save up for US or Canadian made products. Karve, Timeless, Rex, Yates, etc.

@@michaelf3492 thanks for the comment. Always here for the transparent reviews, I'm here for the hype, but also honest about my experience and personal findings/preferences. To be frank, I love my Ultima and would happily use it daily but that is why there are options - no one razor is perfect for everyone. I also fully disassemble my Ultima and dry each piece (may help the staining your seeing). As far as blade feel - if all remains the same, this will for sure be more mild as the blade exposure is very limited. However, I never felt the Ultima was super aggressive, more medium level if anything so take that for what it's worth. Thanks for the input and watching 🙏

Geez this razor is $100 more than the Progress and Parker. No thanks. I'll take either one of those first. Stainless or not.
@RichardE62Ай бұрын
Pearl Flexi is $100 or so cheaper too and much much more efficient.
@SubieShavesАй бұрын
@@RichardE62 slightly different since the flexi is liken a Gibbs though 👍
@SubieShavesАй бұрын
@@RichardE62 hey that's what it comes down too - utility vs cost right. For me - id rather buy it once in stainless and not have to worry about tolerances issues or rot. Plus I love the look and feel of the stainless, but that's just my personal preferences. Thank you for your thoughts and comment! 👍

@@SubieShaves I'm 62. I probably won't wear out my Parker. I've got a hundred more Razors so I wont live to wear them all out. HAHAHAHA! But yeah at your age I see your point. I primarily buy stainless and Brass/Bronze. They last several of my lifetimes. Hope they have good ones in Heaven.
