Excellent shave Heiko, the Yaqi razor did a great job. The Badger smell will eventually go away. I love those brushes because they hold lather really well.
@Heiko-shaves9 ай бұрын
They do hold lather very well but I bet if I buy a fancy brush with a badger knot it wouldn't have that stink.

I really liked the tweaks you’ve made in your videos. The auto-focus works great. Definitely a good investment in your 4K cam 👌🏼

I did also change to 30 fps just in this video. My lens is probably the biggest upgrade. It is 16mm F1.8 prime lens. Thanks for the feedback.

@@Heiko-shaves thanks for the changes 👍🏼, 30 FPS it's ok, 24 FPS looks like paused. I still prefer at least 60, but it's just a personal preference. I noticed you improved the brightness, color and the zoom in your face, excellent 👌🏼. By the way, what happened with the German word?🤔. That Yaqi slant looks nice, but I have read the weakness is the slippery handle, so you should remark that weakness in German... In Spanish I would say "resbaladizo", I don't know in German 🤔. Have a great weekend my friend and thanks for your videos 😀. Greetings from Mexico City / saludos de Cuidad de México 🇲🇽

I found somewhere on the internet this super-effective badger brush de-stinking method: Cup of hot water, one teaspoon of Oxiclean powder, dip the brush for about 15-20 seconds, rinse. Repeat if necessary, but in my experience the first time does the trick. Thanks for the great video Heiko!

Hello, I can confirm, this method works and even removes the yellowing from old/vintage boar brushes. In my experience using just warm water with Oxiclean works also and you can leave the brush longer in the solution. Afterwards I would recommend a hair mask.

I might give this a try.

Love that brush handle. I wonder if they make it with Synthetic knots. I don't do animal hair brushes.

It's a wonderful time for razors and wet shaving! Cool to see the second adjustable slant ever come out at a relatively low price point

Nice Shave! Heiko. Also you not going to lie but when you said "Let's crank it to up to a '3'" I got nervous cause that's the setting where I always end up with Nicks and cuts on my Yaqi FTC😅😅

Nice shave and review Heiko. This is one of my favorite slants & adjustable razors. They really nailed the wide range of adjustments on this razor. I like settings 2-4 for daily shaves. Very smooth. 4 gets up there but still manageable. Grip could be just a touch better I agree but that would be my only criticism of this razor.

Hi Heiko, I've been daily driving(well not "Daily" more like every 2 or 3 days, but you probably get what I mean) the Yaqi Slant Adjustable for about 2 months and either I don't know how to use it or there's something wrong with it, whenever I try to go Against the grain it always leaves some really tiny stubble which makes me either do more passes on the same spot or for me to use a higher level and the part that confuses me till this day is how does it manage to give me Nicks and cuts but it fully ignores the stubble?? Today I fully gave up and just switched to the Gillette Mach 3, Yaqi really Out Did themselves, they out did themselves by beating the Potato Peeler razor from Merkur. If you can and have the chance to make a video on how to use the Yaqi Slant adjustable on the Neck/Throat area going against the grain it would be very much appreciated because for now I quit using the Potato Peeler V2(Aka Yaqi Slant Adjustable) because the amount of razor burn I have now is just way to unbearable, my whole neck is burning, and as for the blade I was using a Feather 81s that is on it's 3rd/4th use, I even tried it with Green Astra and it still has the same issues

Let's see what I can do. I really have not had any bad experiences with the yaqi slant. I don't shave with it any differently than any other razor. Sorry that a razor that I highly recommend is giving you problems.

The only shame is that the Yaqi Slant razor has been out of stock for weeks, so at the moment I don't think anyone will get the razor in the next few weeks either.
@Heiko-shaves9 ай бұрын
Interesting, they just sent it to me a couple of weeks ago.

Surely between when they sent it and when you received the package was the time in which it was sold out and to date there is no stock on AliExpress

Have you tried using a Synthetic Brush by any chance and what's your opinion on them? I've got one From DS cosmetics and I've never had any issues with the brush stinking

If I can get my hands on one. I would love to. I tried the Taiga which was great.
I open up a cap of white vinegar and tilt the container(I call this a dash), into say a quart or two of water and let the badger brush soap overnight. I do this with new Omega brushes. I even rinse them and the razor out with vinegar water as it neutralizes any soap residue, try it on your face also. No, you race won't smell of vinegar !

Those darned stinking badgers! They do smell horrible. There's no way around it. I always wondered how they became the brush of choice. Nice review of a nice, but generic Chinese razor.👍
