Sorry for reversing the words on the screen for Pickering and Cogshall. If you are hearing impaired, Pickering is shown before Cogshall.

I have a Coconut Creme Mango as well and, it's awesome to be informed that the twisted, "Wicked" growth pattern is normal for the breed. Thank you. Nam Doc Mai! That's the one I just put in the ground. Seller said, "Pure Mango Sugar" and I was sold. I believe the more "tree like" the mango is, the WORSE it does for production. Don't know why. The freaky mango are the best.

I really enjoyed your vid very descriptive I appreciated how you let us know how old the trees were in comparison to it's size & mentioning their levels of productivity. These factors allow those with limited land to choose wisely on selecting the right fit out of the vast variety of mangoes. Continue to do such great work

Orlando Gardener - planning on it!! Craig has been busy with an oriental fruit fly program, but as soon as we have time, we are going to do a walk around update. Good year for mangos!!
@orlandogardener6 жыл бұрын
Sulcata Grove is this fly affecting your fruits?
@SulcataGrove6 жыл бұрын
Orlando Gardener Thabkfully, no. Three male oriental fruit flies were found near Homestead - most likely brought in on illegally imported fruit. Craig is the entomologist for the fruit fly lab 😊 No risk to FL because all of the flies found were male.

You Labeled Cogshall when you showed & visa versa...funny; I have many of the same varieties in Phx, other than I have a Graham & Carrie instead of the larger Valencia Pride (wanted that one but have space considerations with over 500 plants); Dot, Lemon Zest & Harvest Moon...so also Lemon Meringue (Po Pyu Kalay), Pickering, Cogshall & Nam Doc Mai...

Hello, Wife and I are looking at your area to move to. Wanting to grow mango, coconut, jackfruit and other tropical fruits. Do you know in that area if the climate changes drastically from town to town. We need to be within 1 hour drive of downtown Bradenton and just wondering if we need to limit our options to particular areas (ie Myakka City has properties like what we want but not sure of the climate). Or do you think that anywhere within 1 hour of Bradenton should have similar agricultural potential?
@SulcataGrove6 жыл бұрын
Maravirocthegreat Yes! Email me at sulcatagrove@gmail.com and I can help. East of 75 has more frost. It’s best to stay within a few of miles of the coast for nice breezes to avoid fungal issues too.

Wait so which one stays very small, the cogshall or pickering? I have been growing seedling Alphonso’s in north fl.. they’ll grow up to 5 ft but freeze back almost entirely once every few years, but always sprout back anyway, so I need to be growing THE most dwarf varieties! What are they?!
@SulcataGrove5 жыл бұрын
Brandon Richardson Pickering would be the smallest, however, it would still need protection.
