Neat trick. I have never seen that before and I've been crocheting many years. This eliminates the need to roll off extra balls, guessing if you have enough for your project. Just pull as you go.. I am going to use this for my multi strand projects when I don't have multi skeins to use.

I'm so sorry it has take me so long to respond back to your comment!. I'm so glad you are a new subscriber. I come out with 3 videos a week. This is so much easier than working with multiple strands of yarn. I"m able to do bigger projects minus the cost. I use a big skein of yarn like Caron One Pound and make a rug!

This is brilliant! Have you ever tried it with fingering weight yarn? I’m thinking I might need to, do the fingering weight isn’t so fiddly and the project works up faster. According to a chart I have, I would estimate that the weight would be between dk and worsted. But I wondered if fingering weight is as amenable to this hack?

Spinner's call this norwegian plying. Without crocheting the strands together, I have used this on the addi machines as it was knitting to make a heavier weight yarn. Works great.
