I've been a subscriber of Darn Good Yarn for a year and 3 months and I've loved everything they've sent me. Another great pro for members is the Karma points. You earn points for each dollar you spend, reviewing your purchases via an email they send you, referring friends, and following their social media accounts. I've gotten over $100 in free stuff with my points so far. The biggest pro for me though is their mission statement.

I love this subscription box!!!! The yarn is beautiful and is so dense and warm. This is almost windproof when using the worsted yarn and single crochet. You can add more balls to the box for bigger projects. Definitely get this!!!!

Also with wooden hooks, if they snag you can rub them with a piece of waxed paper to smooth them out.

I got this for a little over a year and got beautiful yarn every month. Some of the gifts included great buttons, bells, tassels and other things you can embellish your projects with. I enjoyed most of the patterns but I used the yarn from a couple of the months for patterns I already had and even made a couple of the patterns twice. I only stopped getting them because I wasn’t getting them done before the next one arrived and ended up with a bunch of boxes I didn’t have time to do while I was working 2 jobs. Covid has given me the chance. They also offer other products made with this recycled silk from saris that are fun too. I agree with the “4 balls of yarn” because I had the same experience with the crochet hook. I do knit and the needles are very nice and easy to use especially for small projects.

I love your videos and tutorials! I actually recently received this very box as a gift and I agree with everything you said. The yarn is so soft (minus the little bits) and smells amazing!! I both knit and crochet and instantly fell in love with the crochet hook and knitting needles. The great thing about these wooden needles is that it causes drag so your yarn doesn’t slip right off easily. The thing that may upset some people is that the purple started wearing off my needles about halfway through my project. That’s actually a given for me because I’m a tight knitter and I tend to wear my wooden needles out quicker than loose knitters. I knitted a cowl for my 3yr old. It worked up easily and beautifully. I made the cowl thicker than the pattern called for, so I needed to use another yarn to finish it out (which was actually my plan to begin with). I used the Caron Simply Soft White yarn and it looks gorgeous with these beautiful rainbow colors! The sheen and feel match so it only added to the silk yarn. My daughter loves her cowl and wears it almost every day. People always comment on it and I have to remind people not to touch it while my child is wearing it because they’re a stranger and we’re still in a pandemic. (Weird, right?!) Thanks for the review - I've been getting this box for over a year, now and I love it. Even though I'm slow on the projects - I now have a box full of their yarns waiting for me to do something else with them. I didn't like the hook so much but the knitting needle are great (still a beginner). And, I, too love the smell - it reminds me of old book stores...

You're really rocking the headband!! I used to subscribe to Darn Good yarn but the paint on my needles (like yours) started to chip off. I didn't think it was my favorite crate. But I still kept it as a little souvenir. I made mug holders with my yarns. I switched to Knitcrate (you should try it out, it comes with 2 hanks of yarn and little surprises too!!!)
