Loved this yarn swatching! Flapper girls were from the 1920s they were known for their short dresses and type of dancing they did. Really stepping out from traditional societies. I love them! 😊

Hi Glenda, first of all I have five adult grandsons and they are the light of my life. In fact, I’m going to be spending most of the day with Alex who is the second son of my daughters. And, he is just learning to crochet. I love that Instant Classic, and ordered four skins of it. I think it will make a beautiful little blanket. I love these videos where you show different yarns and stitches, and I’m always glad to see. I’m sure he is a wonderful help to you. I don’t know what I would do without my grandsons.❤

Flapper Girl - the name is from the 1920’s and is what they called the girls who wore short skirts (above the knee and unconventional for the times) and danced quite energetically and flaunted their disdain of society’s expectations of decent behavior. They bobbed their hair (women typically had very long hair worn up during the day) and loved bouncy jazz music of the day. They were called “flappers.” My favorite yarn of the five is definitely Lollipop Love. I love how blended it is and that it doesn’t have a striping effect. I like it all by itself without a contrasting yarn and agree that it would make a beautiful sweater or cardigan. Thank you for sharing these swatches! 😊

I've been a big fan of this yarn since it was introduced. Especially the Print versions. I've crocheted afghans using 5 or 7 different print yarns, alternating every 3 rows. My "rule" is that one color carry over to the next colorway. The following change, another color would carry on, etc. They are artsy looking and loved by those who received them. Yes, I kept one for myself! I enjoyed this video, and like to see the interaction between you two.

What I love about Hobby Lobby yarns is that they showcase all the color matching possibilities together, so hunting for color combinations is easy. And I really do love their yarns. Re the Flapper Girl: It was a name given to women who wore a certain kind of short dress and hat combination during the 1920’s. Very cute fashion.

I sure wish I could talk my grandson into learning to crochet! Or as he calls it "crochet" 😂 He's 10 y.o. and has ADHD so when he is interested in something he likes the repetition of things but he just doesn't want to try. 😞 Yet he sure puts in his orders for me to make all kinds of things for him. I have made 3 Iris Stitch scarves and a beanie with Instant Classic. I used Lollipop Love with ILTY Hot Orchid in a blanket. Lollipop Love is a great contrasting yarn. I have a throw made with Amber Honey and it's GORGEOUS! I used the Modern V Stitch and it turned out so great!

I'm so glad you started with the Instant Classic colorway! It was my first experience with I Love This Yarn, and I used it to make a stained glass blanket for my daughter who lives half a continent away. I love the colors in it and contrasted with the black yarn, those colors just sang!
