Cody I wanted to thank you for showing the “play mat” you made with the Bernat yarn. You made it with the Crunch stitch, and I had never heard of that stitch. I searched it and worked up a swatch…on my current WIP I am making for my grandson. I started his blanket in the Rice stitch, but it wasn’t soft enough (my grandson loved it, I am the one that thought it wasn’t the right stitch for him) but after swatching the Crunch stitch swatch above the working piece, I was able to compare it directly, and the Crunch Stitch won. I frogged all 75 rows of Rice stitch and started fresh. I am seeing drape, pattern definition and texture without firmness.👏🏽 I have you to thank for directing me to a stitch I had never known existed. 🥰💯🙏🏽 I’ll @ Glenda so you can see it on IG 😊

This yarn is so pretty! I loved all the colorways as you showed the skeins. Landscapes has a beautiful, rich saturation of color. I thought Boardwalk was going to be my favorite because it's so bright and beautiful, but after seeing all the yarn worked up, my favorite ended up being Apple Orchard. Keep up the awesome videos!

I used the colorway Mountain Range to make a blanket while I was going through chemo last year and I don't think a week went by without one of the other patients commenting on the colors. Everyone loved it and I ended up giving it to my brother and his wife for Christmas, because he drove 3 hours each way to take me to chemo and sit with me for the 4 -7 hour sessions. I also used the colorway way Boardwalk to make a chemo beanie and it turned out fantastic. My local cancer services center asked me to make another one for their upcoming auction. I think Lion Brand's Landscape yarn is one of my favorites.

Good afternoon Glenda and Cody I cannot wait to see the yarn swatches you're making of the Lion Brand landscape yarn! I have never used the Lion Brand landscape yarn I have seen it and thought it looks like really beautiful yarn but I have never actually touched it or used it! I cannot wait to hear yours and Cody's opinion about the yarn if you like it or if it's just okay yarn? I think the Tulip Stitch looks really good with the Lion Brand landscape yarn. I really like the color way volcano I think it's my favorite color way so far!😊 Glenda and Cody thank you so much for all the information! Yes Glenda I can see the fuzziness on the yarn since you washed and laid it to dry. But I still think it looks beautiful! It would not deter me from buying it in the future.

One warning I would give about this yarn: it does not KNOT well. No matter how tight it's tied it's so smooth it sliiiiides out over time. I made a sweater from the Apple Orchard colorway and it's gorgeous....but it kept unknotting where the skeins were joined. I ended up having to use permanent fabric glue on every single knot. Apple Orchard colors : brown bark, blue sky, green leaves, red and gold apples.

Loved using this yarn. Made crochet huge continuous granny square from nine (yes! Nine!) different colours from the range. Worked two rounds of each. Then just used whatever leftover for final round. Decent size throw blanket.

Love you swatches I work all thing in a square triangle or rectangles. I have never mastered a straight line cast on Granny's is my best I learn a lot from stitch of the week.

I have three skeins of desert springs. I find this yarn very fuzzy to begin with. I had to take it apart a few times and I had a rough time because of the fuzziness. I wanted to try it. My favorite in this brand is the blue lagoon. Also Amazon sells this yarn. There are times it’s cheaper than Joann if you have prime membership..thanks for sharing

Your video swatch videos are so informative. I have never purchased any roving style yarns. I was worried that they would be very splitty. I didn’t hear you mention a problem with that. Also, that was a WONDERFUL tip to print out all the stitch patterns and put them in a notebook for easy reference. I must add that to my to-do list……😉 ❤-Brenda

Great yarn review! I have never purchased Landscapes yarn because of the "lay flat to dry" restriction. However, the Volcano color was so beautiful I may have to get some to make a cowl. Thank you for doing the wash test. I think I will hand wash this because I don't like my items to get fuzzy and a cowl wouldn't be too hard to hand wash.
