Tatting a Chain Using Left Hand Only

Wow Marilee! This is an amazing video! It's wonderful that you have done a left handed video also. Left handed people often get left out of instructions and told to just adjust for the left hand. It's great that you not only show how to do tatting for a one handed tatter but that you also show how to do it left handed. Thank you for making it for them.

Again, thank you for the one hand tagging tutorials. I have be using them every day. I received on from my doctor to start knitting,etc with both hands .. I am right handed so to continue the tatting I have started will I need to continue with left hand. If so do I position thread on pillow in right hand

If you are now able to use both hands, then there are many options, including tatting the usual way (shuttle or needle). If at this time the one-handed method is more comfortable, then one handed tatting with right hand video is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmnam6RjlMSGZ9E

Can't thank you enough for your help. I will try practicing flip using two threads. Then when ready an I assuming correctly can use right hand only video to learn ring but set up on pillow will be opposite.I cannot find meridian so ordering pillow today

Yes, tatting a ring using left hand only is like the video showing right hand except - set up to work opposite way. Left hand tatting in progress proceeds counterclockwise, or from right to left. Add pins as needed to secure the work.

Thank you so .much for making this video. It seems the pillow you used gives more support than one I am using. We are getting a piece of the polystyrene foam that we read was used in making a lace making pillow. Question-is there any stuffing or fabric right Inder the blue cover of just the polystyrene foam.. Again thank you for the video

The lacemaking pillow has only the blue cloth cover over the Ethafoam, nothing else.

Trying this out. Only using one thread from a ball. So after wrapping thread from all around shuttle would i start with ball yarn on right side., Run it Long pin on right then up to pin (where you have ball of yarn sitting , then down to figure right pin and across bottom to starting place (anchor with pin )..shuttle has been leading thread along this course n now ready to start. Hope you can decipher this . It e d's up looking !ins thread in right hand only video just opposite

Are you trying to tat a ring or a chain? If getting the stitch to "flip" is still difficult, it is easier to practice tatting a chain using 2 different colors of thread. Once the "flip" becomes effortless, then progressing to tatting a ring will be easily understood.
