By far one of my MOST SHARPEST cameras I have ever had ! I've compared negatives from the Yashica Electro 35 and those with other SLR film cameras and the Electro negatives are MUCH sharper! Great review sir!

These cameras are awesome, got one for 26$ on eBay and the guy threw in a 40D he didn't know how to charge. I had to put a tiny piece of Al foil on the corroded battery cap. The meter works great even at night.

Great video; has me thinking more about filters, what to use and when. I have the GSN, in excellent condition, and can't even remember how I obtained it! But it is a gorgeous camera, attracting attention where ever I go.

I had one for a short time and while I agree it had a nice sharp lens, I never really took to it. I was used to Olympus OM slr cameras and the Electro is big and clunky and in person looks somehow cheap and tacky. I probably should have kept it though, lol.

Hi Carmine, infomative video, I have just purchased a GSN so your vid is very helpful. Can I ask if you made any compensations when using the orange filter - I'd be worried about underexposure, interested in your thoughts. Also, which vented lens hood do you use? are they easy to get hold of? Thanks

I enjoyed your video and I really like those black and white images I see what you mean about contrast even though I have shot any black and white film as yet. Just a question for you I have the Yashica Electro GL which has the 40mm f1.7 lens vs the 45mm f1.7 do you think the lens hood that you are using would still ok and not cause any vignetting with the slightly widerlens ? I haven't been using any hood as yet but I want to get one that is suitable and not cause any issues. I haven't really had any issues with flare but I am careful to keep direct sunlight off the front of the lens.

Hello, Sorry I do not have a copy of the GL, however, I strongly think the hood seen in my video will work fine..best of luck.

What adjustment did you make to compensate your exposure for the filter?
@CarmineTavernaPhotography
@CarmineTavernaPhotography Жыл бұрын
The warming effect of this filter requires a 0.6-stop increase in exposure for normal results.

@@CarmineTavernaPhotography - Since the shutter speed on the GTN (I have one) can’t be adjusted, I’m guessing the ASA would have to be slowed to compensate?
