Thank you. Just trying to decide between rack and pinion and lead screw mechanism for a small platform in my project; they both could do the job, but I have space considerations. So glad I stumbled on this today becuase, although there were pros and cons with each mechanism, the video has helped me rule out one of them.

Excellent and well executed power point presentation keep up the good work man, I was wondering if you have any info about linear motor systems like that of the 3d printer Magneto X from Peopoly. I would like to know if could be cost effective to implement a diy system of the same linear motors

Magnetization of the teeth of the rack and pinion should reduce the friction, gap distance traveled, sound, and overall effiency. Whatcha think?
