Hope you guys enjoy this very realistic video of a Sunday with our newborn, Yara! We are still adjusting to being new parents and finding our groove. It’s not easy at ALL, but totally worth it.
Just because I know someone will ask: I breastfeed Yara AND pump my milk to give to her in a bottle. I like being able to share the responsibility of feeding her. Video on my breastfeeding experience coming soon...
Enjoy!
XOXO

Don't be afraid to make "noise" around your newborn, they'll adjust and as long as it isn't excessive it won't impact her. Trust me once they adjust you'll be able to hoover, get the lawnmower out etc and they'd still be asleep

I swear how can they dislike the video
@YouTubeUniversityGraduate
@YouTubeUniversityGraduate 3 жыл бұрын
I disliked because I realized halfway through that the baby's face is always cropped out or obscured in some way. Idk if this is on purpose due to religious reasons, etc (this came up in my recommended videos and I'm not a regular viewer) but it's kind of pointless to make 1000 comments about her smiling and how cute she looks but your audience isn't allowed to see. Just dont make a video if its that serious a conviction.

@@KZbinUniversityGraduate why do you feel entitled to see her child’s face? Just say you’re a miserable hater and go 🤷🏽‍♀️
@YouTubeUniversityGraduate
@YouTubeUniversityGraduate 3 жыл бұрын
@@moniecestroughter5119 Ma'am, please relax the nerve my comment obviously struck. I swear I hate the lack of critical thinking that seems to proliferate the thoughts processes of my generation. A critique is not automatically someone being a "hater." It could simply be an observation or explanation, which is what my comment was. And not receiving one person's cosign doesn't make that person miserable. They simply aren't your target audience. Your audience isnt entitled to anything that you dont want seen. She obviously doesn't want her baby on camera, so why make a video revolving around your baby? Thats like me posting a review on shoes, a handbag, or a wig, labeling my video "Get ready with me - new handbag and wigs!!!" to gain views from said audience, while continuously cropping the subject of my video out of frame but ALSO simultaneously commenting to my audience about how the bag or wigs look while not including them in the video. Make it make sense. I have no reason to "say I'm a hater and go." I said what I said and moved on to the plethora of other straightforward newborn videos available on KZbin. I suggest you spend less time worrying about old KZbin comments on a stranger's page. Dont you have more "Blessed Success" orders to push through Custom Ink? Guess not lol.

Thank you guys for all the lactation tips!☺️Since this video (which was last week) I have been pumping almost every hour and see such a huge difference in my milk supply🙌🏾It’s crazy how our bodies have supply and demand😄
@shavonnew.9204

You may never see this but I promise you nursing gets better. My baby boy is now 12 weeks old and breastfeeding is soooo much better now. He wouldn't even latch until he was 7 weeks old. I had to exclusively pump to provide him milk. One day he just latched and it worked. The older she gets, the bigger her mouth will get and that will allow more areola in her mouth and take the pressure off your nipples. You can also use your finger to flange her lips out more. Lastly, I know building a milk stash is important, but just know, you wont get as much milk when you're nursing and pumping because your body makes what baby needs. If you continue to pump every hour and also nurse on demand, that can cause you to have an over supply which is no fun. Plus you need your rest. Even if you just close your eyes for 20 mins. REST. Congrats to you mama. You've got this!!! Beautiful family.

Remember, new moms have different experiences, so no one could've ever prepared you for what you would experience or will experience. It is a learning process, learn as you go. She may be a little pooter, lol but always remember you are doing a great job! Let her sit up for as long as you can after she eats at least twice a day or after every feeding and make sure she burps not once but twice sometimes 3 times.

It’s amazing how 1st time mama’s have such similar experiences! You are not alone. My first time with my son he had a tongue tie and breastfeeding was unbearable until he got it clipped. I felt like such a failure not being able to feed him those days waiting for the clipping. Felt so defeated. You’re right, breastfeeding isn’t easy. I thought it would be too because of how it seemed with my mom and others. I’m glad things are getting better. Also, I’m not sure if anyone said this but yeah you’re right about it not being colic. It’s very early and also if you can figure out what she’s crying, it’s not it. I used to think my son had colic but heard it’s so much worse than what he’s crying was. Totally normal. We were pregnant together this time around and have so much in common. Both girls! I also have a lot of the same baby items you do lol good luck mama! I feel so much more confident this time around. Blessings to you and your beautiful family! May Allah help you find balance and ease each day! Ameen...

Your baby could be gassy from any oats you’re eating. My friends baby was super gassy and she realized it was from oats. When she removed oats, her baby stopped crying and stopped being gassy. Don’t have oats for a few days and see if it helps. Also, fenugreek may be the reason your milk supply is up and down. Most milk producing products stops containing that ingredient.

Salaam, you two are doing great!! Love how you are sharing the responsibilities and working together. Believe me, it helps when both parents are caring for the newborn. HOLD her HAND when using Qtips and other small objects around her eyes, nose, and mouth. If you cradle her in your arm (right or left) hold her arm/hand down with the same arm that she is cradled in. It'll keep her from flailing her arms/hands and accidentally hitting your hand or making you jerk the hand you are using to clean her nose etc. She's BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Just for future reference the haaka is mainly for catching let down as in when the baby is nursing on one side put the Hakaa on the other side and it will catch all the milk from that side. For those who don’t want/can’t afford an electric pump Medela makes a really great hand pump for less than $30 it’s super simple and works great 😁

Love this video. And I agree, you aren’t aware of the potential issues with breastfeeding until it actually happens. You are doing such an amazing job. I breastfed for a year and it was the best decision. But initially my milk did not come in for a few days so I had to give my son formula which did not agree with him AT ALL. After that we fell into a routine and I also pumped because I had to return to work...but it became second nature. Don’t worry girl, you are doing great. Everything will fall into place. And Yara is adorable! Congrats!
