I was just like you when I started my natural hair journey. I’ve always done my and other people hair. However, when I became natural I was stuck. I had the same mentality re the manageability of my hair🧐. Once I saw how beautiful and how versatile my/our hair is, I fell in love with my hair. I no longer wanted to wear it straight. Great reminder about taking care of SELF. You’re also right...We can learn to do things OR learn to do things better as adults. During quarantine, I’ve learned to cornrow my son’s hair SO MUCH BETTER...Not an embarrassment anymore. 🙂 I also finally succeeded at feed in braids on myself. I’m excited to get better.

i dont like doing my hair, and i've learned that by leaving my hair alone for long periods of time has helped me grow my hair really long... I'm now at the point where I want to present my hair in a cute style but still leave it alone, but I'm constantly in this vicious and miserable cycle where Im not as creative, it takes a large chunk of time that I dont have , and it physically hurts. This is SO encouraging.. and I absolutely love the pieces of hair you add to the buns area. I'll recreate this

Genuine question - Why do black women braid the beep out of their natural hair? Is that healthy in the long term? Ive seen several vids of african women with their hairlines moved, their hair falling out or thinning from all the treatments and constant pulling. Such a shame because natural hair is divine.
