I'm getting more into woodworking and making jigs out of wood rather than steel, aluminum, etc. I'm a big proponent of making jigs and other tool accessories for custom projects (sculptures, etc.). Often, I just use whatever 'scrap' materials I have at hand. Watching these videos has led me to think more in terms of building jigs/adapters/etc. which are tool-specific, general-purpose, and constructed to last. As someone who has worked with various metals, the part at 5:30 where you drill and then tap the aluminum is great to see. Often, I'll see people use a drill/tap combination bit as opposed to doing it in two steps. For anyone looking to drill and tap anything, a using a properly sized drill bit and then tapping by hand will give you more control and better threads. The drill/tap bits are usually not great quality (at least from the big box stores) and will wear out quickly as proper taps are of much harder steel than most drill bits, and the speed used to drill (esp. steel) is much higher than you need for tapping (cutting threads). For Aluminum, when using a combination bit, it's easy to end up with loose/damaged threads. I really like the steel peg you made out of a cut off machine screw and rounded with 'sand paper' - nice touch. Edit: In the US, the trim/router shown here is sold under the Metabo name. I'm not sure if there are any major differences.

I have found that when tapping threads into wood, you can strengthen the threads by squirting some super glue onto the threads and running the tap through to clean it. It keeps them from stripping out so easily.

I built this jig for my Makita DRT50. Beforehand I measured if the screws were spaced the same distance as the plans (56mm). They seemed to be. However, to my unpleasant surprise, Makita spaced one set of screws 56mm and the other slightly less. Be aware of that! The jig will work for the most part with only one set. You could also build it 90 degree turned as the screws are spaced equally in the other direction. Good luck!

Probably by far one of the best woodworkers/engineers on the planet, it's a wonderful concept and impossible to build unless there's a set of plans, I'm very close to a finished product and there's a few tolerances that I'm just missing and it's frustrating that there's nothing to reference and there's a bunch of us that would be willing to purchase it from you, why not set something up and sell plans, just do something in metric and we can convert it if need be . I took many paused screenshots, and those have been my references. but your videos move so fast as possible to really see how this thing is assembled properly. Any feedback would be appreciated
